Chapter Eleven: Strings Attaching

2026 Words
Friday the day where my mind could be at ease for once, but today that couldn't happen, especially with what happened last night, there's so much on my plate. I walk towards my car, eager to get to class on time. I slip inside my vehicle. I look to see a text from Doyeon. I'm going to ignore that for now because there's so much going on that I don't have time to deal with other issues. I halted at a red light, secrets...these people are filled with secrets, and I'm going to reveal those secrets if it means to get close to Mona. I was brought back into the real world by a car's honk; I look up to see the light was green. I drove till I was at the university's campus. I parked in the parking garage; I made sure my car was locked before leaving the garage. A sigh left my lips, "Mitzi, hey." I turn to see Felix. "Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked with a faint smile, "Dropping off my sister her textbook; she left in such a hurry that I to come over here." Felix said with a shy grin, "Hmm, well, I'll take you to her." I said we both began to walk towards the classroom. "So did Chris ask you to the gathering at Changbin's?" Felix asked with a small smirk, "Uh yeah, he did, but I haven't given him an answer." I said with a blush appearing on my cheeks. "Felix, what are you doing here?" Doyeon asked, walking over to us. "You forgot your textbook," Felix said, handing her the textbook. "Thanks, Mitzi, why didn't you answer my call?" she asked. I look at her with a small smile."If I told you why then you would flip." I said, continuing my walk to class. During the whole lesson, I couldn't focus my mind was deep in thought. What am I going to do? I placed my chin on the palm of my hands and stared at the board with thoughts running wild. "Ms. Rey?" my thoughts were interrupted by professor Kim. I sat up and looked at him with a lost look, "Yes," I said, "Please pay attention." Professor Kim said before returning to his lesson. A sad sigh left my lips, "Class dismissed." Professor Kim said everyone began to leave the classroom. "Ms. Rey, may I have a word with you." Professor Kim let out, I look at him and walked over to his desk. "Yes, professor," I said, gripping my books, "You've been distracted lately; I hope this doesn't become a habit. As you know, you're my top student." he said. I let out a sigh, "Don't worry. It won't." I said, heading towards the door, "Good because I don't want you to let your grades slip." Professor Kim said I gave him a nod before leaving. "Hey M," Hyunjin said I gave him a wave, "So Professor Kim scolded you." He said I rolled my eyes at him. "What about it?" I asked him, chuckles, "What's got you so lost in your thoughts?" He proposed we sat down on the bench. "Last night Seungmin and I were supposed to hang out, but Mona interrupted it, then Christopher called, and I told him about my situation, so he decided to give me a ride home. But things got messy between him and Seungmin." I said, "Wow, history is repeating itself." he mumbled. I looked confused, "Okay." I said, standing up, facing him. "What the hell does this. 'history repeating itself' s**t, tell me what am I getting myself into?" I asked already tired of everyone stating that history is repeating itself how and why. Hyunjin looked stunned by my outburst; I crossed my arms over my chest. "Either you tell me, or I'll go find out myself." I proposed a frustrated sigh left his lips, placing his head between his hands. "Answer me, Hyunjin, what do you mean by that?" I inquired, but he wouldn't budge I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "Fine, don't tell me," I said, grabbing my bag, storming off to the parking garage. I have to look for Mona, but who is willing to help without snitching me out. I strap my seatbelt on; there was a knock on my window. I turn to see Hyunjin, rolling down the window I gave him 'I'm listening.' look. "Look, I can't tell you  because it has to be either Seungmin or Christopher." He said I scoffed at his answer, "As if Seungmin will tell me shit." I said, pulling out of the parking lot. "Mitzi, please don't do anything stupid," Hyunjin said I rolled my window up and left. I got to Jeongin's house and parked by the mailbox. I got out of my car. I made my way up the porch, with a gentle knock Yuna opened the door. "Mitzi? What a surprise? What are you doing here?" She asked. I look at her. "Look, do you think you could help me with something?" I asked, running my hand through my hair. "Of course, what is it? Come in." Yena said, letting me in. We walk upstairs to her room. I sat on the chair in frustration, "Look, you're the only person who knows how to keep a secret, so can you please help me find Mona." I said she gave me a look of disapproval and shook her head "No, I can't do that M, do you have any idea who she is? Mona is the she-devil, which means she's got the power to make you disappear. And why do you need to find her for?" She said, sitting on the edge of her bed. I let out a long sigh. "Last night, a fight broke out between Seungmin, Christopher, and Mona at a diner. And well, everyone has been saying that history is repeating itself. Now I want to know what any of this has to do with me." I said, placing my hand over my chest, "Mitzi, the only person who could tell you the truth is Seungmin, maybe even Chris, but Mona...no no, she will lie to your face just to underestimate you." Yuna said, placing her hands on her hips. A sigh escaped from her lips, "Look, just talk to Seungmin." She said I felt anger boiling inside me. "Seungmin this, Seungmin that, don't you guys understand Seungmin never tells me anything, so what makes you think he's willing to tell me the f*****g truth. Get that through your thick skulls," I said, getting up walking out of her bedroom. Jeongin walked in through the front door "Hey M." He said with a smile. I walked passed him, "Mitzi, wait." Yuna said I turn around to look at the both of them. "I'm not going to say anything about this to the others, but I'm still not going to help you find her." She said I made my way to the car and drove away. Ugh!!! Why won't anyone tell me what the hell is happening? Where the hell is Mona? I got home to the apartments. I locked my car and walked to the lobby. I saw Christopher talking to Ryujin by the front desk. "Oh, there she is," Ryujin said with a smirk plastered on her lips. I gave her a confused look. I walk over to them. "Chris has been waiting for your arrival." She said, sticking her tongue out to Christopher, who had an unreadable expression. "Smooth." He said, rolling his eyes at her before turning to face me. "Wh-...why were you waiting for me?" I stuttered as butterflies kept bouncing all over my inside. "I uh need to talk to you." He said his eyes never left mine, "Well, if you don't mind, can we talk up in my apartment?" I asked, heading towards the elevator, "Not at all." He said, walking with me. "Have fun." Ryujin said we both gave her a 'seriously' look. We step inside the elevator, "What floor?" He asked, "Floor four." I said, leaning against the rail bar, the elevator doors slide shut. I felt so nervous and shy around him. He looked like he wants to say something but kept his mouth shut. The elevator doors slide open, we walk out and head towards my apartment. I unlocked the door stepping inside, letting Christopher come in. I set my things down on the coffee table, "What is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked, sitting down on the couch. I took my glasses off, putting them back in their case. I rubbed my eyes slightly. "Hyunjin told me what happened." He said I looked at him with a dazed look, Hyunjin, you f*****g snitch. "Oh..." I said, avoiding eye contact. "Since you're close to Seungmin and the others, I bet they haven't told you," Christopher said, sitting on the couch next to me, I shook my head lightly. "No, none of them will tell me anything, they kept saying that Seungmin should be the one to tell me. But he doesn't, and I was frustrated about all these secrets that I went to Yuna to help me look for Mona since she has something to do with this." I said Christopher became stiffened. "Are you crazy? Wh- why would you try to look for Mona? God damn it, Mitzi." His voice was filled with anger and worrisome. I flinched at his words, "Look, I'm sorry, but if Seungmin wouldn't tell me the truth, then I was going to find out by myself by looking for Mona." I said in frustration. He ran his hand through his blonde hair. "Mitzi, do you have any idea how dangerous Mona is?" He asked, looking at me with darkness in his eyes, "Yuna said she had enough power to make someone disappear, which I have no idea what she meant by that." I said, facing him, "Which means she has men out there that are paid to kill and make people seem as if they never existed." He said as his eyes softened, I gulped a bit. "Look, the reason I'm here is exactly that reason. I'll tell you everything, but please don't go after Mona." He said I let a small sigh leave my lips. "Alright, I won't go looking for Mona," I surrendered I sat with my legs crossed on the couch, facing him, "Okay, what did Mona mean by history is repeating itself when she saw you arriving at the diner?" I asked he faces me "Do you me to tell you? Because Seungmin also has a lot to do with this." He said I nodded my head "Yes, besides Seungmin is too busy to be here." I said, shrugging the thought of having him and Seungmin in a room together. "Okay, I'm gonna give a small summary because I still have to get to know you before I could give you the whole story." He said with a smile on his lips. I look away from his eyes, "It's fine." I said, letting a small cough out because of how awkward I felt. "Alright, first things first, this happened years ago as in when Mona and I were seniors in high school, and Seungmin was just a freshman. Mona was the school's beauty queen because everyone thought she was gorgeous, and she is, but with a terrible personality, Seungmin had a thing for Mona I did too. Still, I wasn't that interested in her because I was already dating someone at that moment." He said, popping his elbow on the couch's arm. "Let's just say Mona rejected Seungmin after a one night stand, and of course, Mona had to admit that she had a thing for me, but things got out of hands when other people were involved." He said I tried to understand everything, but something wasn't clicking, but I wasn't going to pressure him to tell me. It was 6:30 pm we spent the whole time talking about ourselves when we heard a knock. I look at the door, "Were you expecting someone?" Christopher asked I shook my head before getting up from the couch and walk over the door. I open the door to see Seungmin. s**t! s**t! This can't be happening!
