Chapter 14: Want Her Back

Roman

It's been weeks, and that b***h Lily still won't take my calls; she was seen at a restaurant with Kyan having lunch, and I got in my car and headed over there to talk to her. When I arrived there, she refused to see me, and Kyan told me she was not ready to talk to me. I begged him, begged my son to let me see his mother, my mate, until she said, "I would speak with him." Her belly was bigger now, and I could see her baby bump; she looked so beautiful; it's my child she is carrying, and I just wanted her home. "Please come home, Lily; I'm so sorry I hurt you again, and I promised I would never do that again, and yet I broke that promise." She looked at me and said, "It's over, Roman," and I looked at her angrily and asked, "Do you think you could just leave me? I promise you, if you don't get your ass back in the Palace by tomorrow afternoon, you will be sorry."

She said, "Ares is my second chance mate, I'm not coming back, true mate bonds are stronger, so no, Roman, I'm not coming back." I grabbed her, and everyone looked around, and I said, "You will reject him; I refused to let you go, you are my Queen, my Luna, my wife, and you will come back with me." Troy growled; he was losing his mind, and I had trouble wheeling him in; Xaio said, "Let her go." He was challenging me, not Kyan, and I smiled, saying, "Finally, my pup grew the balls to challenge his father," and I started laughing. "When and where, my boy," I growled, and he said, "I won't challenge you yet, but you will not disrespect or hurt my mother in front of me or ever again." I looked away from him as I looked at my mate and said, "Ares has a mate; it doesn't look like he is leaving her for you, and are you going to throw away what we have for him?"

She smiled and said, "What we had you forced upon me, and now I am leaving you; I can't take the abuse you are giving me anymore, and the council already approved the rejection. If you had taken their calls, you would have known this; you need help, Roman, everyone in the Palace knows you are losing your mind, so leave me alone." I looked around and I saw everyone staring in disbelief, and then I saw him, it was Ty, and I froze as he smiled, showing me a gun sign with his fingers pulling the trigger, saying I'm a dead man. I blinked, and he was gone; what the f**k was happening? They were dead, and I left dazed and confused. I reached back at the palace, my hands shook, and I mind-linked Axel to join me; he walked in and asked, "What's bothering you, Roman?" I looked at him and said, "I need results; find a way for me to get my wife back."

I woke up on the couch with sunlight on my face, and I picked up the phone and called Kyan; he answered, and he yelled at me for trying to hurt his mother at the restaurant yesterday. I said, "You promised me that your mother would be back weeks ago; why is she talking about being with Alpha Ares?" He said, "Mom told me about him being her mate; I had talked to her about it, and so did Issy, and I won't force her back to you; she has to do that on her own." I was pissed, but he was right, I said, "We had a lifetime together, I won't let Ares have her; do you hear me?" He said, "Calm the f**k down, Dad, I am not one of your foot soldiers that you can yell at, your alpha command will not or ever work on me," and he hung up. There was a shift in Kyan's loyalty, and I need to know why.

Kyan

Fallon made sure to let on that my mother would be at the restaurant having lunch with me; we were setting a trap for Roman, because he was becoming unhinged. Spending time with my biological father had shifted my loyalties from Roman; Aidan was an amazing man and cared about the people of Ravena. Plus, the stories of long ago intrigued me; I didn't know if I would ever live up to his potential, but he believed in me. I sat in the office downtown and looked out the window; my wife was at the palace, still working as their resident witch, when I heard a knock on the door and saw Jenny. She was glowing as a pregnant woman, she smiled and had files in her hand, she works as Fallon's secretary, she said, "Jett has gone on his trip, is there anything I can assist you with, Alpha?" I smiled because Jett didn't have an assist, so she took on the role, since he was still on probation, as my acting Delta.

In the beginning, I knew that she hated being marked by Jett, but he was her fated mate, and he married her two weeks after I married Lexi. Jenny smiled; I knew she had loved me a long time, so I didn't lead her on anymore, but I slowly saw she had fallen in love with Jett. However, her family hated him because he was not of noble blood like my Beta and Gamma; Jenny didn't care because, despite everything, she felt his love for her. Jett has mentioned how she had changed his life and perspective on things; he never mentions his family, but his background checks out. Lexi linked me, bringing me out of my thoughts, and said, "Hey, loverboy, I miss you, let's do lunch." I dismissed Jenny and set the files on my desk, and I said, "I will meet you at the restaurant in about twenty minutes." Lexi moaned and asked, "Who said anything about the restaurant? I want to taste you, my Alpha," and that was it for me, and I went home.

After our heavy mid-day activities, we lay in bed with our lunch next to us with some wine, and my beautiful mate always knows how to get me going. She told me a bit about her meeting at the palace, not the stuff I wasn't allowed to know about, but enough to show her loyalty to our mating. My mother was happy, and that was all I needed to know; I hope she and Luna Michelle could get along because they are both mated to my father, and she was my stepmother, or should I say bonus mom. She welcomed me with open arms; then there were my very powerful uncles, Drax, Ty, and Toffe, blood brothers to the end, but their vampires were quadruplets. Speaking of mom, she had requested her rejection and divorce from dad; he is going to be pissed when he learns the truth, and I kept it from him.

The papers were signed, and only the rejection needed to happen; unknown to him, the elders and council wanted me on the throne, so they went along with everything. Lexi kissed my chest, and I looked down at the beauty on top of me and smiled; the bond was stronger than ever since acknowledging my biological father. The parental bond snapped into place the night I confronted him; I was angry because I wanted to be loved by my father, and Roman was just an asshole. However, we worked out our differences, and he loves me; Lexi let out a little snore, and I laughed. I guess she was not going back to work today, and I eased out of bed, taking a shower to head back to work.

Lily

I entered the restaurant with my guards; Ares wasn't there today as he had other things planned, but he trusted Ty to keep me safe, because Ty was a different man when he returned. He was more ruthless and a danger to anyone who opposed his family; Gamma Ty didn't trust me at first, but now he does. Drax had ensured that Roman knew I was here, and we wanted to see how unraveled he was and tell him I was done with him. I loved Aidan, and he will mark me once I reject Roman; I was carrying his pup and felt happy and free. Lexi ran toward me, as she had decided it was our time to get acquainted with each other, when I felt the room's aura change, and all the people in here eating worked for my mate, and watched their enemy walk toward me. Fallon looked down from the VIP booth while his Gamma Max stood by the reception area.

I started talking to Kyan, when it got heated; he wanted to speak with me, but Kyan was blocking him when Ty mind-linked me, saying, "Take it easy, Luna, I won't have my brother fry my ass if anything happens to you." I smiled, knowning he was more protective than Drax, I stood behind Kyan and said, "I would speak with him." Kyan walked away, and he pleaded, "Please come home, Lily; I'm so sorry I hurt you again, and I promised I would never do that again, and yet I broke that promise." I told him I was leaving him, and he yelled, ready to grab me, asking, "Do you think you could just leave me? I promise you, if you don't get your ass back in the Palace by tomorrow afternoon, you will be sorry." He screamed, shouted, and demanded that I come back to him until Kyan stepped in and threatened him, but Ty, being Ty, freaked him out, and he left.

Present Moment

It has been a few days since the incident at the restaurant; we had planned it so well, and Ty outdid himself. Roman is going crazy from the reports I've received from the Palace. He has offered a reward through his underground allies to find a way to kill Aidan and "His lackeys," as he calls them. He has killed some of his men in a rage after they told him Ares's land is impenetrable, and it was hard to find anyone who was not loyal to Ares. Many of his people are pressuring King Roman to step down and let Kyan take over or pass the throne to Ares, who has a close bloodline to the former king no one speaks about. Rumor has it that Ares is King Aidan's long-lost brother; no one knows who spread the rumor, but our suspicions might be Amon for the fun of it.

Because of that rumor about Ares being the brother of the true King, more people started to come to Ares for refuge and accept him as the rightful heir. Ares assures them he is not willing to rule and that he has the utmost respect for Prince Kyan, and he has his support, and Roman is furious. However, I didn't care, because I wasn't going back to Roman; Aidan had decided to keep both his mates, as they found out that eventually, all Supremes would have two mates, and Aidan was just the first to have his besides Drax. Michelle and I worked out our differences, and we are starting to become great friends. After all, our kids will be siblings, and we are mated to the same man who loved both of us, and we loved him. I felt contented with my family, Aidan having a relationship with his firstborn, and he loved Ian, his grandson.
