Chapter Seventeen

Odessas POV

Burning, my entire body felt like it was on fire. I tried to scream but no sounds came out as tears streamed down my face. Edward finally pulled his head away from my neck and carried me to the hospital like bed I had noticed earlier. Theo smoothed my hair back as Josh hooked me up to medical devices. "I know it hurts Dessa. Just try to breath" He said calmly. He looked so sad, I think out of everyone here he was the only I believed still cared about me.

I tried to breath and it was starting to come a little bit easier now. The burning started to dissipate but I still felt really hot. I watched as Edward took out a blade and I panicked, just what more were they going to do to me? Edward made a long slice across his hand with the blade before pressing it to the open wound on my neck. "I, Alpha Edward Gray welcome you, Odessa Gray to the Dark River pack and name you as my heir and the next Alpha" He said before bringing his hand away.

I watched as the cut on his hand started to close. Even though he was a horrible person I had to admit it was cool how fast he could heal. My body was no longer feeling hot and I started to shiver. "Wh...wh..what d..did yo...you do to m..mm..me?" I asked through my chattering teeth as my body shook. "I made you my heir, I made you the next alpha of the Dark River Pack"  Edward said. My eyes widened and Edward turned to leave.

"Stay with her" He commanded to Theo and I could feel a power now from the man I used to call father. Theo sat down next to me in a chair as the others turned to leave. Once it was just Theo and I I turned my head slowly, wincing at the immense pain radiating through my body. "What's going to happen to me?" I asked softly. "Edward's wolf DNA will start to break yours down and mutate it. You might have a seizure or two during the process. Then you'll get a pounding headache as your wolf tries to communicate with you." Theo explained.

"How could you all do this to me?" I asked as tears escaped down my cheek. Theo gently wiped one away and sighed. "I'm sorry Dessa. This wasn't how it was supposed to go at all" He said. "We were going to explain everything to you and turn you willingly but now..." He trailed off. He didn't need to say it, it had all gotten f****d up because Sampson and I met. "Rest now Dessa, it's going to be a long day" Theo said with a sad smile. I didn't have the strength in my to fight off the exhaustion that quickly took me.

I felt a sharp pain in my arm and my eyes shot open. I was breathing hard and moving my eyes around frantically. "It's okay now Dessa" Theo said taking my face in his hands. "You had a seizure. I was just giving you medicine to stop it" He added. My head was killing me and my stomach was rolling around. "Bucket" was all I said before throwing up everything in my stomach. "Just let it out" He said rubbing small circle on my back.

Once my stomach was empty I wiped my lips and Theo gave me a glass of water. Once I spit it out in the bucket I fell back and closed my eyes. My headache was getting worse now and the light hurt my eyes. "Why are you still being nice to me?" I asked him. "Because I care about you like a daughter" He said. "I wasn't just a pawn to you?" I asked. "At first you were but what can I say kid you grew on me" He said with a laugh. I couldn't help the small smile on my lips. Hello I heard and shot up in the bed.

"What the f**k was that?" I asked looking around for the source of the voice. "What was what?" Theo asked looking around as well. "I heard someone say hello" I said. Theo relaxed with a sigh of relief "God  thought someone had broken in or something" He said. "That was your wolf" He said. "Close your eyes and listen to my voice okay" He added.

I did as I was told and closed my eyes. "Now picture a door in my mind. Turn the knob and open it" He said. I let out a slow breath as I imagine a giant white door. It had a golden handle that was cold against my skin. I turned the knob and there was a beautiful cream colored wolf. She had the same blue eyes as me and I could tell she was smiling. Nice to meet you I heard the voice said. Is that you talking? I asked her.

Yes this is what it will be like whenever we talk to each other She said. What's your name? I asked her. Pixie She said as her tongue rolled out the side of her mouth. Nice to meet you Pixie. Do you know what's going on? I asked her. Yes I've seen all of your memories since we now share a mind. Our mate will find us Pixie said with a determined nod of her head. We should rest now. It took a lot of my energy to be able to communicate with you Pixie said before vanishing from my sight.

I opened my eyes and my headache was gone. I looked around the room and my eyes landed on Theo. I could feel a powerful aura coming from him now. Not as powerful as Edward's but similar. "Did you have a nice chat?" He asked with an amused smirk. "Her name is Pixie" I said. Theo laughed a bit "That's adorable. I can't wait to see her" He said. When his laughter died I could hear Edward and Angela talking.

I looked around the room for them but couldn't see them. "What are you looking for?" Theo asked confused. "I can hear them talking" I said. "Yeah now that you're a wolf you have enhanced hearing. They're upstairs" He said with a shrug. I raised an eyebrow at that, this was going to be a lot to get used to. Get some rest now Dessa. We've got a lot of work to do if you want to get back to Sampson I heard Theo say in my head. My head immediately snapped to his and my heart sped up. What are you saying? I asked him. I'll explain everything when the time comes I promise He said.

Theo got up and gave a kiss on my forehead before he straightened himself. "Your training will start in a couple of days after you recover from the transformation" He said before walking out of the room. I pulled the blanket up over my body and snuggled into my pillow. I closed my eyes as sleepiness drifted back to me. I love you Sampson I thought before finally going back to sleep.
