Chapter Sixteen

Odessas POV

Tears trailed down my cheeks still as my 'parents' ushered me into a van. They hadn't said a word to me since Sampson left. Theo at least had the decency to look sadden by my tears. "I trusted all of you" I whispered wondering if they could hear me. "And you still can" Josh said putting a soft hand on my shoulder. I angrily shoved it off at his words "No I can't! My parents literally tried to sell me off to my almost rapist" I shouted. Edwards eyes flicked to the rear view mirror to catch my gaze. I would no longer call him dad or anything of the sort.

"He will be paying for that I guarantee you" He said his eyes flashing black. "Like you give a s**t" I spat out. Everyone in the car was thrown forward by him slamming on the breaks. He turned around to face me and I shrank back as far as I could go. "Alpha" Theo said with a slight growl. Edward closed his eyes taking a few deep breaths. When he opened his eyes again the darkness was gone.

"Of course I care Odessa. You may hate us right now but we're still your parents. You're still our daughter" He said before turning back around and and continued the drive. "It wasn't supposed to go like this" Theo said after a while. I ignored him crossing my arms over my chest but he continued. "Where are you taking me?" I asked anyone who would answer. "Somewhere safe" Angela said finally speaking. I just rolled my eyes and looked out the window.

I don't know how Sampson was going to find me. I just hoped he would and soon. It hurt that he didn't try to take me with him. However I understood why he couldn't I may not be a fighter but I know four on one are never good odds. I don't know when I had fallen asleep but soon Josh was shaking my shoulder lightly. "We're here Dessa" He said.

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as I tried to take in my new surroundings. It was dark out so I couldn't really see much. We walked into a log cabin, Edward and Angela in front of me Theo and Josh behind me. It was pretty small compared the the house I had grown up in with them. "So what now?" Josh asked the group. "I think we should do it tonight" Angela said. "Are you kidding there's no way" Theo said. "It's too risky to wait! He could be tracking us now" She shot back.

"What do you think?" Theo asked Edward. I had no clue what they were talking about and I tried to creep towards the front door. "Don't even think about it" Josh said with a smirk striding over to me. He grabbed my arm and plopped me down on the couch. I glared at him but he stood directly in front of me so I wouldn't be able to get away from him.

"I agree with Angela" Edward finally spoke getting everyone's attention. "You have got to be kidding me! She deserves some answers" Theo said. "And she'll get them I won't do it until we've explained everything" Edward said. He turned to his wife "Angela make some dinner for everyone and we'll talk everything over" He instructed. She gave a bow of her head then went to the kitchen.

Just like at home Edward sat at the head of the table, with Angela on his right. I was on his left with Theo right next to me then Josh. I pushed the food around on my plate not being really hungry. I was missing Sampson so much that my heart was hurting. "You need to eat Odessa" Edward said before bringing a fork full of pasta to his lips. "I'm not hungry" I said glaring at the food. "Suit yourself" Angela said and took my plate away.

"So Odessa we're going to tell you everything from beginning to end" Edward said and that's exactly what he did. The whole feud between his pack and Sampson's started with a woman because why wouldn't it. According to Edward his great great grandfather was mated to a she-wolf but she was stolen by Stone Rivers Alpha. That in and of it's self wasn't so bad but then Angela's father and Sampson's father had some sort of agreement that she and Sampson would be mated.

I glared daggers at her in jealousy she would never be his. She waved me off like a flea as Edward continued the story. Sampson ended up meeting Skye so he pulled out of the contract which really pissed off Angela's father. So now two men who were in charge hated my mate over a stupid woman. When Edward and Angela met and found out they were mates her father was pleased because now they could exact their revenge.

"So did you know I was his mate?" I asked them. "Not until we started smelling him on you" Edward said. "So what do you plan on doing with me?" I asked next. Edward sighed and rose from his chair. Everyone else stood up from their chairs and Theo gently pulled me up as well. "We were hoping this would be under happier circumstances but things have turned" Edward rambled as we walked down a hall.

We reached a door that led to a basement. Angela flicked on a light switch as she descended down the stairs with Edward following her. I hesitated however a light push from Theo had me walking down after them. I dared look behind me and saw Josh pulled the door shut and locked it with pad locks and dead bolts. I swallowed hard as fear took over, were they about to kill me or something.

We reached the open basement and it looked extremely clean. Like hospital room type sterile. "During the battle Angela was unfortunately stabbed with a silver blade" Edward said walking up to his mate and placing a hand where her womb was. He rested his forehead on her shoulder and I saw a tear slip down her cheek. "Silver is our biggest weakness and due to the commotion of the battle we weren't able to repair her injury in time so she can't have children" He continued before turning his eyes to mine.

"We decided to try fostering children in hope of finding one strong enough for this" He said walking closer to me. "Then when you showed up at our house clutching that wolf toy of all things. Sampson's scent was extremely faint but it was there we know you were the one" Edward said pulling me into a hug and kissed the crown of my head. "The one for what?" I dared to ask suddenly scared by the power I felt coming off of the man I used to call daddy. "This" He said before his extremely sharp and pointy fangs bit down hard enough to touch my bones right at the base of my neck.
