Annoyed

ALPHA ASHER'S POV It has been some days since I ordered that Ember be thrown off the cliff of Etretat. I was quite sure that she was dead, but then yet I wasn't feeling quite well. The pain from breaking the bond between us was quite severe and I was quite unable to recover even after days of recuperating. But then, I was sure that in no time I would be back to my normal state. My ambitions were far more than leading the strongest pack so I wasn't Intent on letting some mate hold me back. Besides, what would the pack members think of me when they know that a slave is my mate? Even though I was the Alpha, and I was sure that I was the strongest one out there, I craved more power, I wanted to be invincible. "Asher, what's wrong?" A voice resounded in the room breaking the silence. "Morgan," I sighed, raising my head to look at the figure who had entered. "You look quite depressed, it seems as if the rejection is taking a toll on you." Morgan chuckled as if she was making fun of me. "Whatever," I grumbled and ignored her. Morgan was the Witch who worked for me and because our motive was quite the same, we were going quite well together or else I would have ended her as I hated people disrespecting me. I still needed her if I wanted my dream of becoming invincible to come true, I needed her by my side, furthermore, I wouldn't be able to do it myself so I just needed her to stay and couldn't offend her in any way. "So if I may ask, why did you reject your mate?" Morgan chuckled, breaking the silence as she stared at me. "That's none of your business," I growled feeling rather annoyed. "Calm down Alpha," Morgan chuckled, "You shouldn't have rejected her." "What do you mean?" I frowned, turning around to stare at Morgan as I could feel a sense of foreboding. "At the very least even if you wanted to reject her you shouldn't have ordered her death." Morgan sighed as she continued slowly. I frowned, feeling even more confused by what Morgan was saying. She sounded mysterious and I was itching to know what it was. But then I couldn't force her to say what it was as she might get angry and leave. "That girl is the key to what you're looking for." Morgan continued just as my curiosity reached its peak. "Why didn't you tell me about this sooner?" I growled subconsciously, releasing my aura. "Calm down, Alpha." Morgan chuckled, "I only found out about this recently and before I could tell you about it, I found out that you've rejected and condemned the poor girl to death." At that moment, a sense of guilt washed over me and it felt as if I was being stabbed by a hundred needles. It wasn't that I was regretting the fact that I rejected her, but the fact that she was the key to getting what I wanted. "Asher." Morgan chuckled, calling my name. "What's it?" I frowned, feeling annoyed at her if she had told me sooner about it, then this wouldn't have happened. "Don't worry, even though she's the key, there are still some things we'll need, don't be too anxious." "Whatever," I grumbled as I could care less about what she was saying. I was sure that the girl wasn't the only option or else Morgan wouldn't be making fun of me, there had to be some other alternatives. But she wasn't willing to say anything. "Bye Alpha, I've gotten something to do." Morgan smiled as she walked out of the room. "Aren't there any other possibilities?" I frowned, refusing to believe that the girl was the only option I had. "Well, I don't think so." Morgan shrugged as she walked out of the room. Hearing this, my anger intensified and I felt as if I should strangle Morgan. But there was no way I was going to do that, I still had to control myself. "Ohh, before I forget," Morgan suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned around to face me. "That girl is not dead yet," "Huh?" I froze for a second letting her words sink into my head. By the time I came back to my senses, I realized Morgan had long left. But since that was the case, I knew I had to search for the girl even if it wasn't offending the other packs. "Guards!!" I yelled. Immediately, the two guards stationed at the front of the room rushed in. "Get me the head guard," I ordered. "Yeah, Alpha." The two nodded and rushed out. In about a minute or two, the head guard was standing right in front of me. "The girl sentenced to death the day before is alive, head out with your search team and bring her back to the pack," I ordered. "Yes, Alpha." The head guard replied and rushed out to carry out my orders. Immediately after the guard left the room, I started pacing around the room nervously as I couldn't believe that Ember was alive. I knew Morgan wouldn't possibly lie to me, but I doubted it. But then, since she had said so, I had to find her and bring her back to the pack no matter what was going to happen. No matter who I was going to offend, I had to bring her back, I couldn't let go of this chance.
