Trouble

Ember's Pov "Mmmm" I muttered as my eyes fluttered open, next a wave of pain hit me forcing me to grunt Loudly as I sat up on the bed. Looking around, I saw Damian lying on the floor fast asleep. I couldn't help. I wonder how he was able to sleep comfortably on the cold hard floor. It seemed like I had been quite a nuisance and had to leave. He had helped me enough and I couldn't put him in danger. If Alpha Asher found out he saved me, he would undoubtedly kill him and I wouldn't want something like that to happen. Besides, I was feeling better and I believed it was time to leave, all thanks to the stage medicine he had fed me. Thinking about this, I thanked him in my heart and stood up, preparing to leave. I had to leave before he woke up or else he wouldn't allow me to leave. Quietly, I stood up from the bed and prepared to make my way to the door. Slowly but carefully, I made my way to the door and couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief. "Leaving without saying goodbye, huh?" Damian's voice sounded just as I was about to open the door. "Is this how you were taught to repay kindness?" "I..." I shuttered not knowing what to say as I turned around to look at him. I turned around only to see him sitting upright staring at him. What the hell was happening? Wasn't he asleep just now, I could even swear that I heard his snore but here he is, awake. "I won't stop you from leaving," Damian sighed as he looked at me. "But It's not safe out there, you've not fully recovered." I frowned hearing his statement. Why would he say I've not recovered, even though I hadn't shifted even once and was still rather human, my healing abilities were even better compared to some werewolves. "If you don't believe, then try walking back to the bed." Domain chucked as he stared at me. I squinted my eyebrow staring at him. Even though I was grateful to him for saving my life, I still didn't trust him completely, What if he had some other motives? "Still, you don't believe, huh?" Damain's chuckle came bringing me out of my thoughts. "Then take a step." "Fine," I muttered under my breath. There should be nothing wrong with taking a step. At least, he wouldn't be able to do anything with the distance that's between us. Next, I raised my legs preparing to take a step, Just as I raised my legs, I felt it was as heavy as Mount Tai and I wasn't able to put it back on the floor making me unbalanced and thus as a result fell backward. "I told you, didn't I?" Damian's voice came just as I was out to fall to the floor and I could a strong arms supporting me. What the hell? My heart began to beat wildly. What was happening? How the hell had he covered such distance in an instant? It seemed like he knew that I was going to fall and he was prepared to catch me. But was that it? His reaction speed was just too fast for an ordinary rouge. "I'd advise you to rest some more and not try to run away." Damian voice sounded right into my ears and the next thing I knew was that he was putting me back on the bed. "Sleep well." Damian smiled as he used the quilt to cover me. My mouth couldn't help but twitch hearing his words. What did he take me as? I already had a lot of sleep and probably won't be sleeping anymore. "I'm not feeling sleepy," I frowned removing the quilt from my body and sitting up staring at Damian. "So why did you save me?" I frowned as I stared at him. "Didn't you ask that yesterday?" Damian frowned. "Yeah." I shrugged. "Then leave it at that." Damian smiled as he stopped up. "I'll go find something for us to eat." Damian smiled as he stood up from where he was sitting. "Are you going to leave me all alone?" I frowned feeling rather annoyed. "Yeah, I just need to hunt an animal that'll be enough for us to feed on for about a couple of days." Damian smiled as he walked out of the cottage. "Wait for me!!" I yelled as I stood up abruptly, following Damian out of the cottage. Even though each step I took felt like torture to me, I endured it as I ran out of the cottage. There was no way I was going to stay alone in that cottage. "Huh?" I froze getting outside. Damian was nowhere to be found. The only thing I saw was just the dense forest in front of me and the quietly flowing river right in front. Making up my mind, I walked into the forest as I knew Damian had to be near, there was no way he was going to head to a far place to hunt. Even though Damian didn't say anything about the forest, I could feel that or was dangerous not to talk about the fact that I was weak. Walking right into the forest, the only thing I could hear was the constant rustling of leaves and nothing else. Sometimes, rabbits would run by my feet making me freeze in shock. But after some time,.I got used to it as they seemed to be very much. Suddenly, I froze and stopped walking. The leaves around me were rustling wildly and my heart couldn't help but beat wildly. What the hell was happening? At this moment, fear slowly overtook me as I froze in place. Just then, a small rabbit jumped out of the rustling bush and ran away making me breathe in relief. It seemed like I was worked up for nothing. Sighing I continued to look for Damain as I wondered where the hell it was. It had only taken some minutes and yet, he was out of sight. How the hell was he so fast, I was sure that even Alpha Asher was not as fast as him. Even though I hadn't seen him in action. Before I knew it, I walked into a rather open place. The place looked entirely different and I couldn't help but feel a sense of fear. Even though there was no danger, the fear that overtook me at the moment was quite enormous as it was genuine. At the same time, I felt as if something was watching me. No matter how much I looked, I didn't see anything, it was as if whatever was looking at me was very skilled in concealing itself. At that, moment, I could think no more and just wanted to leave, immediately, I took to my heels. But then I had forgotten about my state. Immediately I took a step, it was as if I was stepping on ten thousand needles. Next, I heard the heavy galloping of a creature and couldn't help but turn around slowly. Seeing the creature approaching, I froze. Death was inevitable for me. There was no way I was going to escape. Even if I was well, there was no way to outrun the creature as it was faster than me.
