/Angelique’s POV/ It’ has been two months since we reclaimed the city and my mother gave back on the throne, everything seems to be back in place except that I was without my sons and for the past few weeks I have been having a repetitive nightmare, I have a feeling it’s that nightmare again because I was sure I was at my husband side in our chambers, in the royal quarters of the palace castle but… I found myself walking into the throne room, angel blood littered the floor and it wasn’t just the blood of any angels. It was the blood of my sons…the red and the blue colour painted the path I tread, my heart pounded heavily against my as my lungs filled with the stink of blood then like every nightmare, their body lay at the foot of the silver throne chair, my body trembled and shiver out in fear as I tried to deny to myself that it wasn’t them, but how could I mistook them, it was them…my boys, their body sprawled and their eyes still without a hint of life in them. “No, no, no” I cried out in agony, raising Axel’s face to mine. “No, they can’t take you from me….no!” I cried out while I moved to Alec, who was just as still. “No!” I wailed, hugging his lifeless body in my arms. I sobbed loudly feeling pained and bitter to have to lose them again, then Karl walked out of the shadows, behind the hall pillar that was gently crafted. My eyes caught on his neck where his blue blood was gushing out. I sprouted to my feet and immediately rushed to help him stop the bleeding. “Karl, look at me…you’ll be okay” I assured trying my best to stop the blood but he sunk to his feet muttering a faint apology. “Karl, no…you can’t leave me too” I cried. “Karl!” I cried out in my sleep and strong muscular arms quickly round me up as I panted heavily with tears streaming down my face. “I’m right here, I’m right beside you” Karl’s words soothed me as I rested into his arms completely overwhelmed by my fear. “Shh,” Karl consoled me, hands rubbing down my head as he hugged it beneath his chin. “Is it the nightmare again?” Karl asked, his hands still rubbing down my head while I held onto the hand he hugged me with. “Yes, the potion isn’t working” I faintly notified, recalling the sleeping potion the physician had made to make me have a proper sleep, a sleep without the constant nightmare of my greatest fear. “Do you think a demon can be doing this?” Karl asked, releasing me to look into my eyes. “How could a demon possibly sneak into Angel Bay?” I asked him and he shrugged, rubbing his tired brown eyes. “I’m sorry I disturbed your sleep again…I didn’t mean to me- “Unique” He cautioned, and I paused. “ 200 years is a long time to still apologise for things like this, I’m alright”. He assured, cupping my cheeks. “I’ll see the physician tomorrow, she should make it more potent…you haven’t been sleeping well- “Okay, I’ll go and check on the boys tomorrow- “You’ve been going too frequently. We agree not to make them suspicious, you will make them suspicious”, Karl reminded me, and I paled recalling how I had promised to stay clear of my young sons, so they could have a normal life, but my nightmares were making me very desperate. “I know, but I just need to see if they are fine. I’ll return immediately. I’m sure they are okay”, I assured him and Karl stood flipping the covers and pacing our chambers like I’ve said so much. “I’m worried about you, Angelique, I think it’s high time we let the queen know about this” Karl inputted with a sigh. “Mother has a hard time accepting a hybrid as my mate, now you want her to accept a demon as a grandchild, she would not hear of it” I breathed out heavily before relaxing, on the headboard. Yes, that’s me…the first child of King Kyrios, the greatest Aqua Angel to live but my father and I weren’t so lucky when it comes to the divine gifting us mates, my father’s mate was a demon and mine was a hybrid, my father at first didn’t want to accept his mate for the fear of consequences like breeding a dangerous hybrid but eventually he did breed a dangerous Hybrid; Vera…my half-sister…took both the demon and the angel population to stop her, and I…I accepted my mate and was destined to have a hybrid child like him but…Karl, my mate, wanted our children to have a normal life, to live freely so he split them in my womb before they were born, Alec turned out to be a demon and Axel an angel, but because they were taken from me from birth and I lost control, my mother trapped me inside a human body for 24years but she was forced to resurrect me into my body because they needed me to fight Vera, my hybrid half-sister. I found my children and I was delighted at how carefree and lovely they were living. Bringing them into the Royale family was definitely going to be too much for them, especially the circumstances of their birth, so I leave them be…to enjoy the worry-free life they had chosen, a carefree life but I still check up on them very often but because of my recent nightmares, I want more than just to look at them from behind a tree or up from the roof of a building, I craved for them but I didn’t want my fear to control me so, I’ll rather stick to just checking on them. “Angelique?” Karl’s voice snapped me straight out of my reverie and snapped my head up after being drawn out of my train of thoughts. “Let’s just go back to sleep, we’ll have this discussion in the morning.” Yep, it was past midnight and we are still up. But are we really going to talk about it in the morning, not really because I was gone by the time he woke up, I had to fly out through the balcony and straight to Axel’s home. He has an adoptive mother who raised him. It became a routine for me to watch him train early in the morning in front of his adoptive mother’s vineyard. The young angel would always carry the basket to collect grapes but he’ll drop it and train, my sister Rin was a teacher of his at Angel Academy and I was told he had been training with all his might so he could make it to the warriors' college, that way he would be given a chance to fight chaotic demons in the human realm. I’m grateful for how he’d grown, I felt a strange pride fill up my chest, then I felt my leg being frozen to the ground. “You?” Axel came walking to my front with a sword-shaped wood. Thankfully, I had a veil covering from beneath my eyes downward. Axel looked more like me; radiant baby blue eyes, sleek black hair, bushy brows, heavy lower lip, long lashes, tall but not as much as his twin, around 6’3, average weight, he was pretty handsome, kinda made me proud of myself. “You are the one always watching me every morning, aren’t you? who are you?” Of course, he was smart enough, how could that escape me, if he was really my son…he would have noticed. “Lift your veil now, I don’t want to hurt you…so don’t make me” I smirked, sprouting my wings and shooting up into the sky after I dissolved the ice around my feet. It’s good to know he had my powers. “Hey!” I heard him shout behind me and I laughed, flying through the morning sun, then I closed my eyes and reached for my dragon. She came flying to me in seconds. I immediately retracted my wings and landed on her back before heading to the demon realm. The place was in shambles before the war, it’s all looking built and renovated, the palace was now in a good shape, I was there yesterday but it still looked new to me. The queen, Nina…an ally of ours. We fought the war against Vera together; she came to welcome me herself but her expression showed she was uncomfortable by my visit, I would be uncomfortable too because I was an angel who killed 100 thousand of their people to avenge the death of my siblings, but that was all in the past before the war. “Your highness, aren’t you visiting a little too much?” Nina tried to speak as politely as she could but I just smiled and pecked her whispering into her ear. “I’m here to see my son.” She knows, few people knew about it and she’s one of them. It’s compulsory she does, she always comes up with the excuse to make me spend some time with Alec since he grew up as her cousin. “Your highness, you’re here again” Alec came striding towards me with a shocked expression on his face that hide the annoyed glint in his brown orbs, the colour of his father’s eyes. “Derek, you’ll be discussing the arrangements for the upcoming peace treaty with the princess” As I said, the queen always come up with something for us, and also, his people know him as Derek, just like Axel’s new family know him as Yerin, but that’s not their names of course. They are Axel and Alec Nero Royale. -----
