"Didn't Mr. Raven tell you? We need to have a group! That's a requirement." She informed me and I agreed after because I thought to myself that I don't have anyone close here besides them.
"Alright, you guys will be great." I said and calmly tossed my food into my mouth to get my first bite, when someone dodged my hand, leaving my food to spill all over the floor.
"What the-" Everyone started whispering like they're about to witness a show.
"Omygosh, that's Red Arrow, right?!"
"Do you think they're after her?"
"She's definitely going to get killed."
I glared and turned my head to see who just messed with my food.
"Surprised?" Their leader said, which made me terribly furious.
Red Arrow? So that's what their group is called.
Hah! What a Trash name for a gangster.
"You again? Didn't I already warned you? Isn't breaking your nose enough to make you scared?" I said and smirked.
"You're lucky it didn't entirely break though, but of course I won't just let someone go without giving my payback."
Great more troubles and this is what I clearly get after saving those two useless student governors. This is entirely your fault Violet if only you kept distance from them, you shouldn't have to waste your precious food right now.
I sighed.
Given by the fact that my hand is injured I don't think I'm in the mood for picking up fights today, but since they asked for it and destroyed my personal space, I might as well consider it as fair.
So I fisted my hand and said...
"Bring it on weaklings..."
As predicted no one approached me single handedly because they ran into me as a group. So I tried my best dodging their attacks and carefully watching their motions. I kicked and knocked almost all of them by triggering their pressure points and then effortlessly flipped my hair.
"Is that it?" I asked their leader who's standing there in shock as he watches me bury his friends.
When I saw him blinked and gulped a few times I grinned and went for him instead. Luckilly he's got some other back ups that protected him before I landed my hands to him.
Everything was a mess in the cafeteria right now but I didn't care because I'm still furious after they spoiled my lunch.
I was busy fighting over his minions when I didn't notice that their leader took a chair and slams it against my body.
I stiffened and got dizzy. It also felt like everyone watched our commotion in silence while their throats were filled in shock as I hear them gasp.
Thankfully my vision was still not that bad that I even manage to laugh to their leader like I've already lost my mind.
I can't help it.
I'm not going to fall back now it's already past my patience.
"I like how persistent you are to defeat me. However, I don't like it when someone touches me against my will." I said with words burning in fury and dashes straightforward to his place.
I didn't care who came my way because I already spotted my goal and that is to rip off their leader's head. If possible I'd like to break his bones, powderize them, or split them due to my overacious sensitivity.
However my rage only worsens when his group brought some weapons to stop me from killing him. I only knew then that is no ordinary student of Imperial High, with his control and confidence to bring hazing here I'm sure he's one of those dirty bastards behind school rules and regulations.
"Hah...filthy idiots. They don't really know how to play fair." I thought in mind.
"What are you gonna do now, Midnight? It seems like you're out of strength." He boastfully said to me thinking that he's gonna claim victory today.
What he doesn't know is that I don't easily give up.
"Chill, I'm just getting started." I replied and forcibly fought his minions empty handed.
It's true that I'm losing my strength because of the impact it caused me when he slammed the chair to me and it hit my head. I winced in every aspect their weapons hits my body but I had manage to endure those pain so I could survive from losing my breath. However, things suddenly got easier for me when Marissa and her friends helped me fight this ganster group.
"Don't worry friends don't leave each other. Go on, fight that bastard Midnight!" Marissa said to me when I got confused.
"Yeah, show em who deserves respect, Midnight. We got you covered here." Jason and the others offered so I nod my head in response and went on rampage.
Unlike from my past experiences, I couldn't see or hear anyone screaming from fear. Instead, everyones face looked so amused and was enjoying everything like this is the best thing that has ever happened in Imperial High.
Great, no interruptions.
When I was approaching Red Arrow's leader I saw how his face slowly turned out pale. I knew then that he's scared of me because he took a knife from his pocket and pointed it to me.
"You won't make it alive. I'll make sure of that. " He says.
"I don't care as long as we're the same." I smirked and then grabbed his hand and twisted it over so he could finally drop the knife. When it's done it's now my turn to take it and point it to his neck while he's strangled in my arms, facing the happy audience.
My breath were very shaky and my head is obviously aching when I whispered into his ear.
"I could easily kill you if I want to, but your death means nothing to me."
"Your just a show off!" He shouted.
I smiled wickedly.
"If I were to show off, I had slit your neck seconds ago." I said and then released him after.
I wasn't finished yet when I threw the knife like I was playing dart. I made sure it wont hit any parts of him because that was just a scary warning.
"I'm sure you wouldn't dare pick a fight with me after this right?" I questioned him but when I got no response I turned my back immediately when I didn't know what was going to happen next.
Someone from the crowd rushed and hit me with a steel bat from the back of head that I cried in pain. The ringing in my ears worsens, however I knew that he's going to hit me for the second time again. I immediately lifted my hands to catch the steel bat when I absentmindedly used my right injured hand for defense.
Damn it f*****g stings!
Since I was not that strong to hold, I lost my grip from holding the steel bat, and the freaking monster now takes advantage of my pain.
"f**k!" I screamed when he got me hit for the third time.
He was actually going for an another strike when someone stopped him and I heard this one familiar voice.
"What do you think you're doing to her?" He said.
"D-Danger!" The striker fearfully called his name.
So it was Pierce Danger that saved me today.
The next thing I knew was when he punched the striker badly, and knocked him out using the bat that the striker used to hit me.
I can't believe what I just saw, and it honestly surprised me like the last time he caught the knife for me using his bare hands. His eyes were the same, cold as ice but there's a difference with his expression today.
It looked like he was worried.
Then he came to me and check my situation by roaming his eyes into my face. I didn't understand when he stiffened for a moment until I felt it on my own. I felt the heat of my blood rushing down from my head until I totally got blackout. However, the last thing I saw was when Danger was going to get hit from his back and Caleb Duke stopped it while he smiled at me saying...
"It's alright now, Violet you're going to be okay."
White lights....
All I ever saw were white lights when I tilted my head to see everyone.
Harris was there, Marissa, Jason, Mason and Philip were there and also the council leaders. Danger's eyes then landed to mine like he wanted to say something to me but I ignored it when Harris spoke to me.
"Are you alright? How do you feel Violet?" He asked.
I blinked my eyes for many times and when I felt the tingling pain coming from my head that was giving me uncomfortable feelings, also my hand it stings as hell.
"I'm fine." I answered painlessly.
"Good, the council leaders are here to investigate and ask some questions, are you fine with that or should I send them to another time?" Harris worriedly assisted me and I feel bad for him because I will probably gonna get blamed for what happened earlier at the school cafeteria.
Here we go again....the lies and the victim.
"No, it's fine it's not like I'm new to this kinds of stuff." I commented with sarcasm and I saw Danger frown.
"Alright, go on leaders you may ask Midnight for some questions now. Children come with me." Harris said to my to my friends leaving me with the council leaders' supervision.
The one who approached me first was Caleb Duke.
"Hey, I'm sorry for what happened. I was late but I made sure he's going to pay for the trouble he caused." Caleb said and I just stared at him.
Okay?
So what does he mean by he made sure those bastards are going to pay?
Like did they send them in detention or what?
Did they lose a point and what hell is going on?!
Is doing a rampage inside the campus normal?
There's just too many questions in my head that I took a deep breath and faced Caleb Duke.
I wanted to asked some specific questions but it's weird how it feels like it's an illegal thing to do right now.
However, the intimidating atmosphere didn't bother me when I called him.
"Who are they?" I asked Danger completely ignoring Duke.
His face turned serious.
"You're not in the right place to know Violet." He said but I was curious I'm sure those kids aren't just ordinary trouble makers.
It feels like something is off around Imperial High.
"I think I'm in the right place to know. I'm the one injured here do you think hiding something from me is helpful?" I seriously tried to pursue him when the only girl in their group defends him.
"Midnight we student governors are not allowed to give informations easily. Just cooperate with us and we'll handle the rest." The students govern secretary said to me to the point I was getting annoyed.
"FINE! I'll figure it myself." I said and stood up from the hospital bed then took off the dextrose in my hand, not minding the situation I'm into.
"VIOLET!"
"MIDNIGHT!"
They screamed my name surprised.
However, the one from Pierce sounds furious, not because I took off the dextrose but because I said I would figure something out.
"What?! If any of you won't tell me anything then I better do it on my own." I angrily hissed.
"Are you crazy?! You don't even know what your doing!" He barked.
"I won't if you don't tell me! That jerk broke my hand and slammed a fuckin chair on my head Pierce! His friends even tried to hit me with a steel bat and you think I don't deserve to know?!" I furiously screamed and their eyes widened all of a sudden.
"They did what?" Caleb Duke asked surprised and then began arguing with eachother.
"That's out of the rules!"
"We have to take action right now!"
"But how can we do it if we're reprimanded to do so? We don't have any evidences yet." They all talked with each other, clearly ignoring my presence for a minute then went back to looking at me.
"Unless...." The one girl in their group cuts off.
"Unless what?" I asked her impatiently.
"Unless we have someone outside from the council do the work." She suggested and it only took me a second to understand what exactly they were talking about.
"No! We can't let her do the job she's injured! Look what they did to her Alice, they did not have any mercy." Caleb Duke stopped her.
"But I'm sure if her hand wasn't injured before they fought them, she could've won and kicked their asses right?" She said still staring at Peirce then back to me.
I gasp.
Does she know? Did he tell her?
"Enough." Peirce Danger stopped them and took all my things with him. My bag, my books, and my phone, he's got it with him then went to speak again.
"She's not ready for that mission yet. We can't risk any lives like we did before. We'll discuss this matter later I should take her to the dorm now." He said and then pulled my left hand and we went to leave the clinic with wandering eyes following us.
"What are you doing?!" I lowly protested pulling my left hand away from him but only failed because his grip were so tight.
"Well talk when we get there." He said with authority, so I didn't bother arguing anymore and walked along with him.
When we got to the dormitory he assisted me to the living room and prepared some food for me to eat. I was surprised by his sudden movements and behaviours, but it didn't stop me from bringing up questions again.
"Now will you tell me?" I asked and I could see how he is doing his best to distract me.
"Later when you finish eating dinner." He answered.
"I thought we shouldn't be crossing boundaries? What's up with you?"
"I'm just doing what's best for you. No strings attached."
"I didn't mean that."
"Then what is it?"
"Why did you save me? You're not feeling guilty right?" I blurted those awkward lines but it doesn't matter now. What matters most is what that girl suggested earlier.
I then saw how his eyes shifted from being cold to getting concerned.
"Should I feel guilty to save you?"
"No, but you knew right? That injured my hand it's impossible how that girlfriend of yours knew about it and defended you." I said.
"She's not my girlfriend..." He cuts me out and then another blow of silence filled in between us.
He sighs.
"I just felt like I needed to save you. You're right I knew about it but I don't have to feel guilty about saving you just because I'm the reason you injured your hand. I'm the student president of Imperial High, Violet that's my job." He explains and I felt quite embarrassed but also offered a hand shake to him.
He looked at me confused.
"What's that?"
"Isn't it obvious, a hand shake?" I said.
Well he doesn't want to accept it at first but I also took the chance to make the first move.
I initially thought of taking his hand to initiate the peace treaty between us and then said something like to commemorate for our first encounter.
"I'm Violet Midnight, and thank you for saving my life today Pierce Danger."
His expression then softened but still there's the cold and firm personality inside of him.
I'm glad that he accepted it though then quickly pulls away because it also felt embarrassing I know. However, I was surprised when he pulled my injured arm and helped me treat it.
"I'm sorry if I didn't the chance to thank you, it's just not my thing. But I just want you to know that I was glad you came to me that day." He confesses to me.
"Are you? Then why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked him.
"I told you it's not my thing thanking someone, besides I thought you're capable of my rudeness?" He smirked and I smiled.
"You have no idea how I many times I have murdered you in my head." I snorted.
"I know." He replies.
I rolled my eyes.
When he finished bandaging my arm that's when I started asking questions.
"So about what that girl said-"
"Alice?"
"Yeah, about what Alice said what's that about?"
"I thought you were getting distracted now, guess I was wrong."
"I can't get distracted when I'm curious about something." I said.
"Can't you just ignore it then?"
"No, I can't, not when I'm in pain."
"Is there really nothing I can do about it?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"No." I answered.
He straighten up then sighed while putting all the medicines away.
"Pleasee I promise that I won't tell anyone about it." I tried to convince him and was gald when he did answer me.
"Fine but afterwards don't do anything rash."
"Yes sir!"
Once we settled together and turned serious to one another, he started by showing me his laptop, he presented the files option and then I saw tons of profiles in one folder. He clicked it and immediately, I saw a file named 'Red Arrow'.
My mind shifted to a one thought then went looking Pierce Danger in the eye with a one question in mind.
"Are you?"
"What?"
"Are you also a spy brought into this academy?" I curiously asked him when he nodded.
"Yes, and it's kind of annoying how Harris made you be my only partner."
My eyes widened.
