Chapter 24

551 Words
“Crow” looked at the luxurious kitchen. Everything was neatly cleaned and organized. He looked into many cupboards in search of something specific. He pulled out some pancake batter powder when he found it and began cooking it. He relied on memories of Crow cooking them whenever someone was sad or having trouble. “I need those perfect pancakes…” He spoke his thoughts out loud. He then replayed a memory of the cooking process inside his head and began mimicking the actions with his body. He poured the batter into a large mixing bowl and poured some water along with a little bit of milk, then stirred. When the batter was finished, he pulled out a griddle and began pouring the batter little by little onto it, making sure to put a bit of space in between each pancake. He flipped each over when they started to bubble. When they were finished cooking on both sides, he pulled out plates and began stacking three of them onto the plates. He grabbed forks and knives for the two of them and placed them besides the pancakes on the plates. He then grabbed the container of syrup and held it between his lips and walked back to the room. He poured syrup onto his pancakes, drowning them in it. He placed her pancakes near her and put down the syrup next to the plate. He then placed his hand on her head to release the sleep spell and speed walked back to his plate of pancakes. Tab drowsily sat up and looked at the plate of warm pancakes in front of her. She then looked up at the demon sitting far off on the other side of the room, just outside of her range. She looked over at the utensils on the plate, a fork and a knife. These were standard for eating pancakes. However, one could be used as a projectile weapon or might help in picking the lock. “If you think of using the knife for anything other than to cut the pancakes, know that I will take it away and you’ll be forced to eat with the fork alone.” The demon spoke almost as if he had read her mind. “Do you have telepathy or something?” She asked, genuinely curious. “No, your face just says it all.” He spoke matter-of-factly before proceeding to eat his pancakes. “You should eat that before it gets cold.” She opened her mouth to speak before closing it and choosing not to. She picked up the container of syrup and poured it in between each individual pancake. She then topped it off with a little bit of syrup. Then she picked up the fork and knife and began eating. She was caught by surprise when she found that they were really good. They had just the right amount of fluffiness and color. She shook her head to clear it. This guy is still bad. Just remember the amount of demons within his head. “I hope it’s to your liking.” “Crow” softly spoke. “I-it is…” She was caught off guard by the sudden statement. “It’s really good. Almost like IHOP pancakes.” The demon simply laughed at this statement.
