“Crow” woke up from his bed. He turned to the shackled girl leaning on the wall. She looked sleep deprived, her eyes were bloodshot and a tad puffy. Dark bags had started appearing right under them.
“Hey, are you-” he started speaking, concerned.
“Stay back!” She was jumpy. Forcing her eyes to be opened at their widest, she yelled with all her might. She was trying to avoid sleeping and becoming vulnerable.
“What’s wrong?” He slowly walked closer.
“I said stay back! Which one of those creatures are you?” She continued to yell.
Creatures… Words that cut deep into his being. Is that what I am to humans?
“What do you mean?” He asked, clearly confused.
“I went into your head… So many demons…” She hugged herself, feeling unsafe and afraid of violation. “Where’s Crow?”
“So you do know him!” He rushed over to her and covered her mouth to refrain her from screaming. “Listen, don’t scream. I don’t know where he went. I took over the body when he lost the will to live. Honestly, the only reason I didn’t-” He stopped speaking right then and there. He took a breath and removed his hand from her mouth. “I don’t know why I’m telling you this…” He thought out loud. “You need to sleep… And you need some breakfast…”
“Wha-” she was interrupted by the sound of her stomach growling. She covered her stomach and glared at “Crow”, “how do I know you won’t poison the food when you bring it to me?”
“Crow” looked her in the eyes, “you won’t. I could give you my word, but that won’t mean anything. You’ll just have to eat and see.”
Tab glared at him. “That is not very assuring.”
“Crow” simply reached a hand out to touch her head. “Until it’s done, I’ll have to ask that you sleep.” He looked into her bloodshot eyes, his own changing to a crimson color, and cast a sleep spell on her.
Her head went limp, her eyes closed, and all of her body went dead weight. “Crow” picked her up and laid her on the mattress on the floor, her bed. He then left the room and set out for the kitchen.
