Zexal had been welcoming to “Crow”. It seemed as though the previously mischievous and conniving personality had been fixed by the brutal beating that had ensured that he wouldn’t marry Airi. He had taught “Crow” how to fight against armed enemies, how to fight more efficiently, and what his Hell-Dweller heritage brought him. He was a great teacher. He also provided him with new clothes that fit his preference better, along with a motorcycle to use as a mode of transportation instead of his wings.
“We can’t have humans knowing that demons exist, it would scare them,” he was told.
“Crow” simply nodded, agreeing that humans who knew of their existence were dangerous. The ones who knew were out hunting them and killing them out of the belief that demons were bad.
It would be just like what happened to Airi.
There was just one thing that bothered him to no end. Airi had completely forgotten him and the other Crow. She had no memory of anything they had done. He knew that Crow hadn’t gotten his will to live back yet and it was frustrating.
She’s alive, you i***t! We just have to get her memories back and she’s good as new!
No matter how much he tried, there was never a response.
He spent every night going out and hunting the Hunters. He refused to let any of them live. He believed that someone among them was holding Airi’s memories. He wanted to kill whoever had them and anyone who stood in his way in order to get them back.
Each one that he killed he left a homemade stake within their chest. At the backend of it was a pentagram, and within it was a bit of his blood. It flowed into his victims, waiting for the day when he would activate it. This was blood magic, a kind of magic that utilizes the user’s blood. This wasn’t the only magic used within the stake, however. He placed another spell on it to ensure that the stake remained in place no matter how hard someone pulled on it.
For a Hell-Dweller such as him, magic and curses were like second nature. However, due to his human half, it had taken some studying to learn how to use it without too many repercussions.
It took him three days to figure out how to use lock magic and six to learn blood magic. However, he didn’t know what his blood magic did just yet. The only thing he did know was that when successful, it took on a black appearance.
