Chapter 13

302 Words
It was the next day, Zexal was ensuring that “Crow” remembered what he was taught. “This is a test of strength, memory, and stress. I won’t tell you what I’ll be doing, you will only be able to watch, react, and act.” “Crow” nodded, preparing himself. He took a breath in, lowered his center of gravity, and waited. Zexal started off with a straight lunge, quickly closing the gap between him and his opponent. His goal, strike first and strike hard. “Crow” moved the minimum amount to grab hold of the arm headed in his direction, placed his foot down in front of Zexal’s, and used the momentum to lead him to the ground. Zexal hit the ground on his back, the shock temporarily knocking the air out of his lungs. He got up quickly and launched his next attack, a jab. “Crow” used his left forearm to push the punch aside, and used his right fist to uppercut at the jaw. Zexal’s head was forced upward, pointed to the ceiling. He was stunned, his brain rattled. He fell on his behind. Wow, that was a hard one. He looked up at Crow, “will you look at that, you got me.” He smiled, “you should be proud of yourself. Are you proud of yourself?” “Crow” looked down at him, “Were you holding back?” “No.” Zexal lied. “I don’t believe you.” “Are you proud of yourself for something?” “No. I’m simply doing what needs to be done.” No Pride at all. None? Zexal was shocked. So far, “Crow” had the ability to commit just one Sin: Wrath. This won’t do… It won’t do at all.
