The Vampire Princess

My True Nature

I am a high school senior and I still have the same routine. I go to school and have my activities. I return home immediately and have advanced self defense classes then I spend time with my parents and aunt. I enjoyed my routine and did not mind keeping myself busy. I was excited because my parents were going to take me to see my grandfather on my 18th birthday in September. I was excited because I had never met him. I was also worried because I never changed when  I was supposed to. I was the same and my father thought something was wrong. I was still quiet and human. 

On my 15th and 16th birthday my parents did not make me a party expecting me to turn and lose control like when I was a child but it never happened. Here I was a senior in high school without fangs or glowing red eyes. Evanna thought it was probably due to the sudden change I had as a child. I felt incomplete and I felt like my parents were disappointed of me. I tried many different things to see if I could turn but nothing seemed to work. 

Graduation finally came and went. I was happy because this meant that we could finally see my grandfather and hopefully find out why I had not changed. I was excited when we got home and saw our bags ready and the cars also waiting for us to depart. My father always traveled with a lot of guards and whenever we had to all go out we had a bit more security. Evanna decided to stay behind instead of going with us. When I asked her why she didn't want to go she gave my father a loot then said, "I don't get along very well with your grandfather." I gave her a sad look but understood that there had to be a reason as to why but did not want to push her too much. 

We said our farewells then our journey began. I put my headphones on and listened to music on our way to where my grandfather lived. I saw the scenery change form the province to a big city the a suburb area. I saw many trees and as the sun began to set I saw the sun wave goodbye to the sky. My father was talking to Usagi about something and then we got out of the highway and turned to a small exit. I looked around then took my headphones as I said, "Where are we going?" My mother said, "We will stop to rest until daylight arrives. I looked at her then said, "Okay." I put my headphone back on and waited for the car to stop. Unfortunately it did. 

I was startled by a loud bang then the car moved violently. My mother grabbed me as she tried to shield me from danger.  My father moved us to his side and also covered us from any more danger. I was terrified but he said as he looked to the rear window, "The other car has exploded." My eyes widen as I hear my fathers words. My mother said, "Are they all dead?" He says as he lifts out chairs and pulls out swords. I look at him and my mother says as she puts her hair in a bun, "We need to fight." Usagi and Claude get out and as they did there was a loud sound of metal clashing. My father says as he grabs both my mother and I in a hug, "You two must run. I will cause a distraction." I have tears in my eyes but my mother kisses my father then says, "This is our duty." I was confused but I knew what they meant. As King and Queen they had to fight and someone had to live. 

I saw my father get out  of the car to help Usagi and Claude. I saw a lot of men surround both Usagi and Claude. I was them hurt and bleeding but they never gave up. I looked at my father who was now cutting down a lot of men. Their horror as they saw his sword swung with such a force that broke theirs. He slashed their face and would claim their eyes as he made sure that the numbers began to diminish. He gave my mother a look and she took us out of the car but as we began to run to my father there was another explosion. This time it flipped out car and as debris flew everywhere I felt my mother cover me from any danger. I saw my father try to reach us but a metal piece pierced his chest and another cut his throat. Usagi and Claude were also on the floor and many of  the men had also been pierced. My head was bleeding as I had hit a rock when we fell. I tried to look at my mother but she was holding me tight and without moving much. I said softly but with fear, "Mom?" There was silence and I saw my father crawling towards me. I cried more as I saw my very strong father crying with anger and despair. 

He reached me then said as he caressed my face, "Your mother died protecting you. I too will die in the same manner." As he said that a man with a mask covering his whole face said, "Who are you talking to King Julius?" He looked at me then said with amusement, "Do you think you can save her?" MY tears were now of rage as this man mocked my father. He continued, "You are so pathetic thinking you can kill me when you can barely move. I am surprised that you are still alive even though you lost so much blood." My gaze was now at my father as I saw his shallow breathing and his bloody neck  as well as the blood that was escaping his body. My anger began to grow then I smelled something delicious. I was cough of guard but my mind was in awe at the smell. It was familiar but what surprised me was the fact that it made me want to drink it. I took a deep breath then noticed the blood dripping from my shoulder. I looked at it with shock and disgust but I could not control myself. I moved my mothers body away from me and I sunk my fang into it. One of the men gasped and my fathers gaze fell on me. My eyes were crimson as I drank my mothers blood. I felt a surge of energy enter my body and I felt whole. 

My father sat up and said, "You are the future." My eyes fell on him then tears again began to roll as I looked at him. The man with the mask said as he walked up to me with his sword, "Such an abomination." My gaze was now on him and he was about to strike but I moved away from him swiftly and quickly. He hit the dirt then looked around to see me next to my father who said, "We always waited for the Pure Blood to arrive in our bloodline." I looked at him confused then he said, "Drink my blood and then you will carry both your mother and I with you." Tears began to roll again but his words compelled me. I sunk my fangs into his wrist and as I drank I felt more power enter my body. My dark brown hair began to turn white and I could feel my skin on fire. The men all began to run away and the masked man said as he ran fast, "Retreat for now." I quickly let go of my father and I ran toward them. The ones that were last I quickly picked them and dismembered their bodies. I wanted to kill them quickly so I could maybe kill them all. To my rage the masked man was gone but I had a trail of blood and bodies following me. When I realized that the man was gone I was angry, upset and enraged. I could feel vengeance scream in my veins. I calmed a bit after I looked at the bodies that marked my path back to my family. 

I arrived to see Claude and Usagi trying to help my father. As I approached them they began to tremble in fear. I walked to my father who was now very weak but he still tried to be strong. I fell to my knees as more tears began to roll down my face. He said as he softly caressed my face, "You have to give them some of your blood then they will be loyal to you until death." I looked at Claude and Usagi but they froze in fear as I looked at them. I nodded my head then walked to them and I gave them both one of my hands. They looked at my father who said, "Drink your future Queen's blood." They did as he ordered and they bit me. After a gulp they let go and fell to the floor writhing in pain. My father said, "I never expected this to be what destiny had for you." I walked to him then said, "Can you drink my blood to get better?" He smiled then said, "Both your mother and I are full vampires but our bloodline was different. We have become tainted but there was a prophecy a long time ago that there would be a Pure Blood born from two tainted vampires. It was said that this Pure Blood would be very powerful and they would only crave vampire blood." I sniffled as more tears tried to come out but he continued, "We, Vampires, can not drink other vampire's blood because the blood will make us go mad. There have been a few who have tried thinking that they were Pure Bloods but as soon as they drink they lose their mind and kill themselves." A tear left my eye as he said that and I said, "I'm sorry. If I had done this earlier then everyone would be fine." He smiled then said, "I am glad I saw you in your true nature but only regret that you will now be alone without us." More tears fell and he added, "Stay with Evanna. My father will try to convince you to stay with him but I don't trust he will lead you in the right direction." I nodded then said, "As you wish, father." He gave me a smile then said, "I have to go see your mother now. I will tell her of what a beautiful and strong Pure Blood we made." He caressed by face and smiled as he took his last breath. I let out a ear piercing scream that sounded human yet animalistic and I felt my heart ache as I lost my parents.
