Post Funeral

After everyone had left I walked to Evanna and said, "How are you doing?" She sighed then said, "I'm tired but more than that I'm worried about tomorrow." I took my mask off then said, "I'm sorry you have to do this." She smiled then said as she beckoned me to sit next to her, "I know you need time to adjust and mourn in your own way." I felt bad because she made me seem like a good person. I sighed then said, "I hope I become the good person you make me to be." She smiled then placed her hand on my face as she said, "You are a good person." I felt her words pierce my heart and I said, "I will go look around to see if anyone is still around." She nodded understanding that I did not want to talk anymore. 

I made my way outside and as I was walking around looking to see if there were still any guest when I heard a soft humming. I cautiously walked towards it and met with Sebastian's gaze. I froze then placed my mask on. He looked at me suspiciously and I walked up to him then said, "Sir, I must ask you to leave." He got up from where he was sitting then said, "Who are you?" I looked at him surprised then said, "I am Queen Evanna's guard." His eyes widened hearing me call Evanna queen. He quickly asked, "I thought Aarraa would be queen?" I paused then said, "I'm sorry I can't talk about that." He sighed then said, "Do you know her?" I nodded then he said, "How is she?" I wanted to smile but knew I couldn't so I replied, "She is resting." He looked up to the castle and as I followed his gaze I saw he was looking at my balcony. It made my heart skip a beat but it also made me feel sad. I took a deep breath then said, "Do you like her?" His gaze quickly fell on me then said as his face began to flush red, "Why the sudden question?" I laughed then said, "I'm sorry. Please let me escort you out." As I said that Claude placed a hand on my shoulder then said, "Queen Evanna is looking for you." I nodded then walked away feeling butterflies in my stomach and I said to Claude, "My name will be Era." He replied a bit amused, "It sounds almost like your actual name." I smiled then went inside to see Evanna and Darius. 

They were in the dining room waiting for me before having dinner. I sat down then said, "We can relax a little because it seems like the enemy was not here." Darius said, "Tomorrow I will announce that due to your emotional state you will not be taking the throne and will place Evanna as the new Queen." I nodded then said, "Yes, I will be there as a guard as well." Evanna said hesitantly, "I asked Claude to ask General Sebastian to come escort me." I closed my eyes feeling the butterflies in my stomach return then said, "I will be wearing my mask." Darius and Evanna smiled seeing my blushing face. Hanna came with our dinner and we ate as we talked strategy.

I went to my room and I changed into some PJs before going to bed. I laid in bed waiting for sleep to take over when I heard a soft tap on my balcony door. I sat up and walked towards it trying to make sure who ever was there could not hear me. I moved the curtain slightly making a small opening where I could see who was there. I saw Sebastian sitting outside touching the door softly. I smiled at him then the butterflies returned. I saw the moonlight shine on his raven hair and his honey brown eyes almost glowed as they looked at the door. His slightly pale skin almost seemed to glow as the moonlight touched it. I found myself mesmerized by him and I began to see that I loved him. I forced myself to get up and return to bed before I did something stupid. I drifted to sleep remembering his beautiful face and eyes as we had spoken.

I woke up early in the morning and walked to the balcony then looked outside cautiously in case he was still there but he was gone. I took a shower then quickly got dressed before going to Evanna's room. She was walking out of her room when I got to her. She smiled seeing me happy then said, "Did something good happen?" I blushed then said, "I realized I like him." She gave me a big smile then said, "I'm glad you finally realize it." I felt embarrassed seeing her this happy for me but Usagi walked up to us before giving me and Evanna a phone each. We gave him a confused look then said, "Lord Darius told me to give these to you for when we go out." I nodded realizing that he wanted us to act normal when we went to the meeting at the Corporate Center. I looked at my phone and saw Darius, Evanna, Usagi and Claude in my contact list. Evanna looked at her phone then said, "I think I remember how to use it." I sighed then said, "You turn it on by pressing this side button, these two buttons control the volume and as you see the picture they represent contacts, text messages, settings and calls." She looked at me confused then I placed my hand on her head then sent her a mental image of what each thing I said was meant to do. She smiled then said, "You are figuring your powers on your own." I simply said, "If you can enter my mind then I can send you an image." She smiled then said, "Lets go." 

Usagi walked next to me behind Evanna talking to me about what the security protocol was going to be like. I was listening intently that I did not notice that Sebastian and Claude were near until I caught a whiff of Sebastian's scent that sent a chill and goosebumps through my  body making it feel like it was on fire. Usagi quickly grabbed me before I could move and I pressed my face to his body trying to drown Sebastian's smell with Usagi's. Usagi used that time to grab my mask and put it on. He picked me up as Evanna ran to me then said, "Is she okay?" He said, "Yes, I would have thought she was fine but it seems that the fresh air still affects her." She nodded understanding what he meant then said, "Take her to rest for a bit." I said after I softly said my spell, "I am okay now. I have to remember to keep my mask on." Evanna walked up to me then said, "Don't scare me like that." I nodded and Usagi put me down then Claude said with a smile, "Don't they make a good couple, Sebastian?" He froze at his father's comment then said, "That's their decision." I saw how he glared at his father which amused me. Usagi gave him a glare as he moved towards them. Evanna was still worried then I said, "Thanks but I am okay now." Sebastian gave me a look to see if I was okay and our eyes met for an instant. I felt myself blush then I said to Evanna in her ear, "My name is Era for now. If you want I can be your adoptive daughter." She smiled then gave me a hug. I smiled and said, "I'm fine." Sebastian found that interesting which made him keep an eye on me. 

Darius was waiting for us in the dining room with breakfast. I smiled as Evanna said, "Come sit next to me, Era." Darius looked at me then smiled and said, "General Sebastian, come join us for breakfast." He looked at us hesitantly then Evanna said, "You are a guest to us." I got up then said, "I think I should go see what the rest of the protocols will be." Evanna said with a whining voice, "You are forgetting about me." I smiled then said, "I have to keep you safe." She sighed then said, "What ever happened to my beautiful daughter that followed me all around?" My face flushed red and I said, "Please behave, mother." Darius laughed then said, "Evanna let her spread her wings." I smiled then gave him a bow as I walked to Claude then said, "Let's go." He walked away with me and we went to another room to get me a weapon. 

Usagi was sending us information of what my backstory was according to Evanna and Darius. I could not help but laugh as they made a story about how I was an orphan that ran away from a burning home and how she found me dying from smoke inhalation. How I was traumatized by the scent of fresh air that I would almost immediately faint or freeze whenever I realized that there was fresh air near me. While we searched the armory I found a retractable metal spear that fit my long range battle skills. I asked Claude curiously, "What did you mean when you asked Sebastian if Usagi and I made a cute couple?" He laughed then said, "Sebastian saw you without your mask yesterday and it intrigued him so he asked me about you." I also overheard your conversation so I wanted to tease him a bit." I smiled then said, "Please refrain from doing that." Usagi added, "You may be my brother but I won't allow anymore disrespect to her or me."  I smiled then said, "Please be respectful to us." He chuckled then said, "You were happy when you saw him glaring at me." I blushed then said, "Let's go back." I arrived to see them still eating breakfast and as we entered Evanna said, "Come sit with us." I sighed but walked to her in defeat. Hanna brought me a plate and I slowly took my mask off. As I did Sebastian was looking at me intently. I ate quickly trying to finish and put my mask on but he did not stop staring even though they were talking. I smelled his scent but I managed to make a barrier around myself to try to block his scent from getting close to me. I finished as quickly as I could then placed the mask back on and removing the barrier before Hanna came to get my plate.

Everyone finished and we made our way to the car. I sat with Evanna and Sebastian was with Darius. We made our way to the Corporate Center where the meeting to announce the new queen was going to take place. We arrived with time to spare and as we got out Evanna said, "Era and Sebastian will be with us." I froze as I saw what she was trying to do and Claude as well as Darius and Usagi agreed. I was near Sebastian and as he was looking around he reached towards me and I froze as he grabbed something from my hair. He said as he showed me a leaf, "Sorry, you had a leaf on your head." I smiled then said, "Thank you." He put it in his pocket then we continued to observe. As more people arrived I found myself a bit agitated but Sebastian grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him as 2 men almost bumped into me. I froze in his arms and he said, "Be more careful of your surroundings." I pushed myself away from him then said, "Thank you." I felt my hand on fire and everywhere he touched felt the same. He rubbed the back of his head then said, "Sorry, I didn't mean to grab you without your permission." As he said that I smiled then said, "I didn't mind." He blushed then said, "Let's go meet Usagi and Claude." I nodded then we walked towards them.
