The Funeral

I spend all night wondering the castle and taking sips from a cup full of blood. I found the taste bland to my pallet but knew I needed to keep my hunger at bay. Evanna stayed with me for a few hours trying to see if the blood made me sick. I told her with half a smile, "I'll be fine, go rest." She refused but seeing her following me made me feel bad so I walked to her room then said as I entered, "I will rest with you." She smiled then said, "If that is what you want." I nodded my head then laid down on her bed. She walked to her closet then said, "I will take a shower before going to bed." I said softly, "I hope I fall asleep before then." She walked up to me with her clothes in her hand, "You should rest." I smiled then slowly drifted to sleep. 

I woke up to a sweet scent engulfing my every sense. I sat up and saw Evanna next to me I got up and followed the scent outside. I saw Claude talking to a man. I saw then smiling and talking warmly but as Claude felt my presence he said, "I have to go. Please go home until the funeral begins." The man gave him a hug then left. I was left in shock and disbelief as he left, I could smell his scent so strong that almost made me rush to him. Claude ran to me then said worriedly, "What is wrong?" I was breathing heavily and my body felt strange but as he left it began to calm down then I replied, "I don't know. Please take me to my room then bring Evanna and Darius to me." He nodded and he picked me up in his arms and took me to my room. He laid me on my bed then left quickly. I sat up trying to grasp what had occured. I was lost for words, thoughts and ideas as to why I had reacted like that.

Evanna and Darius walked into my room only minutes later and found me staring outside my window almost in a trance. Claude walked up to me then said as he grabbed my shoulder, "My Queen, is everything okay?" I blinked then noticed everyone in my room. I took a deep breath then said with confusion, "Who was the man you were talking to?" Claude frowned then said, "That's my son, Sebastian." Hearing his name made my heart race then I said surprised, "Why is he here?" He replied, "He heard the news and came to pay his respects." I nodded but my heart was still racing. Evanna looked at me then said, "What is going on?" I said, "Sebastian smells really good and I wanted to drink his blood, I think." Claude gave me a strange look then said, "You were not trying to drink his blood." I looked at him surprised then Usagi said, "You were trying to claim him." My eyes were now wide at the idea that I had tried to claim him. I looked at Evanna and Darius with fear but they were surprised. Claude said, "I think this means that he is your destined one." Usagi walked up to us then said, "You know this is true, My Queen." I felt by body shake with confusion and denial. I got up then said, "NO! I have to avenge my parents and kill the one responsible!" I felt my heart breaking as my words left my mouth. Claude and Usagi both ran to me then said worriedly as they tried to hold before I went wild with rage and pain, "We will keep him away but please calm down." I froze at their words then began to cry bitterly. Evanna walked up to me and placed her hand on my hand and I drifted to a dark place. 

I could not feel or see anything but darkness and calm. Then as I looked around trying to figure out where I was, a white light far away appeared. I moved slowly and cautiously but as I got closer I saw Evanna. I walked up to her then said, "Where are we?" She smiled then said sadly, "Seeing your anger and rage when you said that you could not be with your fated one made me want to give you some peace." I smiled then said, "Thank you, I do feel calm here." She said as she showed me a plain white room that seemed infinite, "This is a training place that I created when I was trying to learn how to use my magic." I looked around then said, "There is nothing here." She smiled then said, "Yes this is only a vacant place where our emotions are kept calm and you can focus much easier. It also slows down time in the real world." I smiled genuinely as she said that and I said with amazement, "You are incredible." She smiled again then said, "Follow me and I can teach you a few things before the funeral." I nodded my head feeling calmer than I had ever been in the past few days. She said, "Picture a chair and table." I closed my eyes and saw our living room in my mind. She said surprised, "You can open them." A replica of our living room was surrounding us and we sat down. She said with a soft laugh, "You are able to use magic to easily." I looked at her then said, "Is that bad?" She smiled as she said, "No, it just proves that you are a Pure Blood." I felt a small pain as she said that to me then she said quickly almost as if she knew what I had thought, "I'm sorry, you don't like being different." I sighed then said, "I am no matter what I do." She gave me a sad look but said, "I will teach you how to hide your hair and look if you ever need it." I nodded and we began to train. 

After what seemed a long time of training Evanna said, "We should go back. Like I showed you change your hair and try to use the spell I showed you to stay calm." I nodded my head and a door appeared. She opened it and we were back in my room. Usagi and Claude were still holding me and Evanna had let go of me. I took a deep breath then said,  "Cessabit."  My rage and anger calmed slowly then Usagi and Claude let go of me. Evanna smiled then said, "You did great." I smiled then Darius said, "You showed her how to use her magic?" Evanna nodded her head then said, "She learned quick." He looked at his watch then said, "That was a total of 2 minutes that you were linked." I said as I walked up to him, "It felt like an eternity." Evanna laughed then said, "She is very impatient." Darius chuckled then said, "Just like her family." I said to Usagi and Claude remembering that I had not told them about me standing in as a guard and about Evanna or me leaving to join the Royal Guards, "Listen, I will be standing in as a guard today at the funeral." Claude said, "Yes we know. You kind of told us last night before you fell asleep." I smiled seeing that I was sharing too much with them. Usagi said, "We also know that you want Evanna to take the throne while you go join the Royal Guards." 

I sat on my bed relieved that they knew. Claude said, "We will follow your orders no matter what they may be." I smiled then said, "I want you to guard Evanna as if she were me. I know that who ever did that to my parent will try to do the same to her and even my grandfather." Darius looked at me surprised but I continued, "Is there a difference with your bodies?" Claude and Usagi said in unison, "Yes." Evanna looked at them surprised and Claude said, "I can smell, hear, see better than before and I seem to be able to make things combust." I looked at him concerned but U sagi said, "I have the same sensory enhancement but I can make things freeze." Evanna said, "I bet you guys can use magic too." I looked at her now curious eyes then said, "They will guard you when I leave so wait until then to try to experiment on them." They gave me a worried look but I said, "She will do the same thing she did with me today." They relaxed then I added,  "I hope." Their worried looked once again feel on me and I smiled. Evanna said as she came closer, "Now fix your hair and wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth to prevent Sebastian's scent from getting to you." I remembered him and I felt my agitation return so I once again said, "Cessabit."  I felt myself quickly calm back down and I closed my eyes. When I opened them my hair was black which made my hazel eyes more noticeable. Evanna said, "Now come to my room once you have put on a black suit like them so I can give you a mask." I nodded my head and they left me alone. 

I was now alone in my room and I slowly walked into my closet. I grabbed a small box and opened it to reveal a book. I picked it up and remembered how Sebastian had given it to me as a gift in order for me to learn how to fight. I held it tight to my chest then said softly, "I can't have these feeling if I will have to kill many people." I put it back then went to take a shower. Once I finished I quickly got dressed and went to Evanna's room. She was finishing getting dressed when I arrived. She had a beautiful long black dress and she did not wear make up. It made her look older but it also showed her natural beauty. I smiled then said, "You look beautiful." She said as she grabbed a black mask, "You have no idea just how beautiful you look as well." I gave her a half hearted smiled then put on the mask on. Usagi and Claude came to us then Usagi said, "Lord Darius is waiting down stairs with some guests. He wants you two to hurry." I nodded my head and Evanna took my arm as we made our way. 

Darius was talking to a few people and I could recognize some as my fathers acquaintances. Claude and Usagi walked in front of us and as we came down the stair everyone stared at us. Darius came up to me then said, "I will take it from here, join the other two." I bowed then went to Claude and Usagi. We stayed close to them and one man asked, "Where is Princess Aarraa?" Evanna sighed then said, "She is resting at the moment." He persisted by saying, "She needs to be here. What kind of daughter misses her parents funeral?" I glared at him but whispered my calming spell softly. Darius replied angrily, "If you had witnessed the murder of your parents, would you be in shock?" The man lowered his head then said, "I'm sorry for the rude comment I made, please forgive me?" Evanna said trying to keep calm, "Please keep in mind that this is hard for her and in the state that she is in she needs to recover from the trauma." He nodded with guilt plainly visible in his face. I walked up to Evanna then said in her ear, "Can you tell everyone that the funeral will begin soon so they can make their way to the cemetery?" She said as she gave me a smile, "Thank you for letting me know." I bowed then went back to my spot and she walked to Darius and sais, "Father, it seems it is time to begin." He said in a loud voice, "We will now make our way to the cemetery." We got in position and escorted them to the cemetery. 

There were about 50 people excluding security in the cemetery. I looked around and kept an eye out for suspicious people. As I looked around my eyes met Sebastian and I felt my heart race. Claude came up to me then said in my ear, "You need to control yourself." I gulped then said as I looked at him, "Thanks." I returned to observing when I felt someone staring at me. I followed the gaze and saw Sebastian looking at me suspiciously. Claude said telepathically, "I will go talk to him." I replied, "Thank you."  He went to him then they walked away. I returned to searching but everything was fine.
