My Family

I sat on my bed looking far away as my mind began to replay the events of the night before. I felt my body shake with rage as the image of the masked man appeared in my mind. I took a deep breath and got up noticing that I once again had crimson eyes. I walked to my closet and looked at my eyes examining them closer. They were crimson but they had a glow that made it look like there was a fire in them. The more I looked the more they seemed to glow. I was brought back from my trance by a knock on my door. I walked towards the door and opened it only to see Claude and Usagi. As they saw me with my crimson eyes they knelt but I said as I picked them up, "Don't do that." They looked at me confused but got up. I said as I walked past them and into the empty room across my room, "Please stay here until I feel better. I know that you can feel how I feel now." Usagi said as he put his bag down, "We will be loyal to you no matter what." I smiled then Claude said, "Even if we die we would be happy because you will be safe." I shook my head and said, "I don't want you to die. You still have a family." They looked at me surprised then Usagi said, "We might have out family but we know that as our future Queen you must be protected." I sighed then said, "Rest for now. I will tell you about my plans tomorrow." They nodded their heads then I left. 

I went to my room but found it suffocating so I once again went to the living room. I met Evanna talking to a man that looked to be in his 50's. As I walked into view of them Evanna said, "Aarraa, this is your grandfather, Darius." Our gazes met and he said with surprise, "She is a Pure Blood." I frowned then said, "Why is that such a big deal." My father's words had completely left my mind until my grandfather said, "Because there is a prophecy about you." I blinked then said softly, "Yes, my father said something about that before he died." Darius gave me a suspicious look then said, "What happened?" I froze but knew that I had to tell them everything. I told them how we were ambushed and how I drank my parents blood before going after and killing as many of the enemy as I could. All the while I spoke they were quiet.

Darius finally said as he saw me crying bitterly, "I think you did the right thing." I looked at him with tears still falling from my face, "There wasn't much that I could do." He got up and walked up to me then said he put his hand on my shoulder, "You need to learn to control your powers." I looked at him confused but he continued, "You are not a normal vampire, my dear. You are very powerful." My tears had stopped but now I gave him a suspicious look. He smiled softly and he reminded me of my father as he did which managed to put me at ease. Evanna said softly, "As a Pure Blood, you must drink vampire blood which makes you very strong, fast and very powerful using magic." I looked at her shocked hearing her explain it to me. She continued, "You haven't noticed but you have managed to make the weather change only in our small property." I looked at her confused but my grandfather said added, "The whole Province is pouring in rain." Evanna looked at him surprised and I said, "What can I do?" Evanna got up then said, "I will teach you small things to do when you feel your emotions getting the best of you." I just nodded my head. MY grandfather sat back down then took a deep breath before saying, "Let's talk about the funeral." My body tensed then I said, "You guys can take care of that." Evanna gave me a surprised look as she said, "You need to be there." I looked at her then said, "I don't think I can handle it." Darius sighed loudly and it made our attention go to him. He got up then said, "What would your parent think if they knew their own daughter did not want to attend their funeral?" I got up with my crimson eyes glowing and he said as he got closer to me, "You don't intimidate me. I have lived so long and met so many Pure Bloods that I am no longer fazed by their presence." I gave him a low growl as my rage began to tip. He backed away a bit and I closed my eyes to try to calm myself. 

Once I was calmed Evanna said cautiously, "I think you should be there." I looked at her then said calmly, "Fine, I will be there. I just don't want to anyone coming near me." Darius sighed then said, "You are their daughter, they need to pay their respects to you." I took a deep breath then said, "I would rather not lash out at anyone trying to pay their respects to me." My eyes glowed a bit as I said that to him then he got up and began to pace. Evanna got up then said, "What do you propose we do?" I rubbed my temples as I felt a headache start then I had an idea. I jumped up then said, "You will tell anyone that asks about me that I am in full rest due to witnessing the death of my parents." They looked at me then at each other then Darius said, "Yes, that could work." Evanna then added, "How will you be there without anyone noticing?" I smiled then said, "I will be your personal guard." They frowned but before they could say anything else I added, "I also propose that Evanna becomes the Queen." As I said that Evanna's eyes widened and she sat down while Darius said angrily, "The throne is yours and it is your duty to lead our clan!" I felt my rage flare but I took a deep breath before saying, "I understand very well my responsibility... I also recognize that I am now well at the moment to take that step..." He looked at me with curiosity now and I continued, "If I take the throne I am 100% sure that I will try to use my power for revenge rather than to help my people." Evanna was now listening to me intently but kept quiet so I continued, "I am trying to think carefully about what the people need and that is a leader that is capable to make rational decisions without cloudy judgement which I know too well that I don't have. I want Evanna to do it because I think she is capable to take care of everything and with your help she can not do wrong." Evanna sighed loudly then said, "You have spoken like a true leader." My gaze dropped and I felt sad to know that they truly considered me a good leader even though I exposed my desire for vengeance. 

Darius began to ponder the idea for a few minutes but gave up the ways to try to make take the throne then said, "Fine but what are you going to do in the meantime?" I took another deep breath then said, "I want to join the Royal Guards." He looked surprised then said with approval, "That is an excellent idea." I smiled then Evanna said, "I don't want you to go yet." I looked at her confused then asked, "Why?" She crossed her arms then said, "I have to teach you how to use your magic." The realization that I had changed the weather finally hit me and I said, "Yes, you're right." She also added, "You also need to learn how to change your look." I looked at her confused again then asked, "Why?" She  rolled her eyes then said, "Anyone that looks at you will know you are powerful by your hair color." As she said that Darius' phone began to ring. We looked at him as he picked it up, "Hello?" The man on the other line said out of breath, "Sir, we have a situation." He looked at us then saw my eyes glow then my face became evil but he replied, "What's the problem?" The man said, "We have 5 intruders heading towards the castle and most of our men have been injured or killed." I turned towards the exit then Darius said with worry, "Tell our men that are still alive or are able to move to make a perimeter around the castle and not let anyone get out. Aarraa is not in a good mood and would hate to have casualties on our side." He disconnected then ran with Evanna after me. 

I reached the entrance and closed my eyes as the rain once again began to pour. I heard the water falling but in between I could hear footsteps splashing in the water. I turned to Evanna and Darius then said, "They are coming towards us very quickly stay behind me." They saw my crimson eyes with now piercing black pupils as I turned and ran towards the first man. I rammed into him making him fall then sunk my fangs into his neck as I tore it open. The blood and rain mixed on my face and I let out a blood chilling howl that made the other 4 stop dead in their tracks. I was no longer aware of what was surrounding me, I had marked them based on their distance and I just followed my instincts. In a matter of minutes I has dismembered all of them and I began to return to the castle drenched in blood and rain. Evanna and Darius both looked at me with horror as they saw my bloody hair and blood dripping body. Evanna said with a shaking voice, "Are you okay?" I looked at her but before I could say anything I felt the ground move and my consciousness fade. Everything went black and I faded into darkness. 

The sound of running water woke me up. I jolted up and was confused by the spinning room. Evanna ran towards me then said, "You need to rest a bit more." I said as I tried to stand up, "Where am I?" She sat me back down then said, "You drank some bad blood and it seems to have made you sick. You have been vomiting blood while you were passed out." I frowned then felt extreme hunger invade my stomach. There was a loud growl form it and Evanna laughed. I blushed in embarrassment as she laughed at me. Darius entered the room then said, "I called an old acquaintance that knew a Pure Blood, he says that they usually drink any type of blood but will get sick if they drink the blood of a witch or warlock." Evanna said, "That can not be true." I looked at her then she continued, "Her mother had witch's blood and she drank it." I frowned then said, "I was fine with my mother's blood." She nodded her head then Darius said, "But her mother could not use magic." I was shocked to find things about my mother. My stomach growled again and I said, "I need to feed because my hunger is growing." Darius nodded his head then left the room.
