Nancy's POV
I was still in shock of what happened until the man stood up and walked up to me.
"What did you do?" he asked after staring at me for a few minutes.
"W... what do you mean?" I stuttered.
My goodness! How can someone be so handsome? I never thought I would see someone as handsome as V not to talk of someone more handsome. Holy moly!
"How did you send me flying just now? Don't try to put on an act because that's what you humans are good at doing" he said and my thoughts on his looks vanished immediately. I dislike rude men the most.
"We humans? So are you not human? And why are you blaming me for what happened? You probably are too weak and that's why you were sent flying or who knows? Maybe you're Satan since my rosary reacted like that for the first time" I spat.
"Your rosary?" he asked and moved closer to me while staring keenly at my rosary.
"Anyway, I'm sorry for bumping into you. Now that you're fine, I will take my leave" I said and tried to leave but he pulled me back. He released my hands immediately like I was poison to him and I rolled my eyes.
"You sent someone flying over 300 meters and you think a simple sorry will cut it? How are humans so shameless?" he sneered.
"What do you want me to do then? Go down on my knees and say Your Royal Majesty, I'm really sorry?" I mocked. Melissa tugged at my dress and signaled for me to not say anything but I won't have it.
"Wow! Do you even know who I am? I know mortals are fearless but I've never met anyone as daring as you are. When other mortals see me, they cower in fear even though they are unaware of my true identity but you must be tired of living" he threatened.
"Ahh... Is Your Royal Majesty upset that I'm not cowering in fear like others? Do you think the world revolves around you just because some people fear you? Who are you by the way? Are you Jeremy Anderson?" I snapped.
"You're right! I'm Jeremy Anderson. Now that you know who I am, I'm sure you know what you've gotten yourself into?" he smirked while I bursted into laughter.
"If you are Jeremy Anderson, then I'm Jang Won young. Don't kid yourself" I scoffed. He wanted to respond to me when a lady whispered something into his ear and they left shortly after.
"Who is that rude scumbag anyway? He's so full of himself" I mumbled.
"Do you even know Jeremy Anderson?" Melissa asked with a sigh.
"Of course! He's the richest man with the biggest conglomerate in the world" I answered.
"Not that. Can you recognize him if you see him physically?" she asked.
"Why do I need to recognize him when I won't even be able to meet him?" I scoffed.
"Search for Jeremy Anderson online. Just check one of his pictures before we go inside" Melissa urged.
I decided to just check his picture like she wanted without complaining so that we can go in quickly but what I saw threw me off balance.
"There's probably a mix up somewhere. This man can't be Jeremy Anderson" I said.
"You realize what you've just done right? Now let's go in" Melissa said.
"Go in? How can I go in when my life is ruined? I probably won't be able to get a job anywhere in this world right?" I cried.
"We will deal with that later. The tickets are too expensive to go to waste" she said.
I thought about how much I spent on the ticket and finally decided to go in but I couldn't focus on the concert. Even though Taehyung was standing before me, my thoughts wondered off to Jeremy Anderson until the end of the concert. This was not how I pictured the concert would turn out but things took a different turn. It looks like my luck has finally run out. How am I going to survive in this world now?
Jeremy's POV
Throughout the drive back home, I couldn't stop thinking about that strange girl. Never in my life have I seen someone like her.
She's the prettiest girl I've ever seen but I couldn't even admire her looks because of her attitude. How can the most beautiful person have the worst attitude? And all that aside. Why did her rosary have so much power over me? I couldn't even touch her.
It's true that demons are usually vulnerable to holy power but because I'm the demon King's son, it has never had any effect on me. This is the first time that I will be vulnerable to holy power and it just makes the girl more intriguing. Also, when our eyes met for the first time, I felt this kind of strange connection with her even though I was meeting her for the first time and it made me remember what Glorio told me a few minutes ago but I shrugged it off. There's no way that girl can be the one and I didn't see any emblem even though it possibly won't be on her forehead.
"Find out everything you can about that girl before tomorrow morning" I ordered Mia.
"Yes, sir" she answered politely.
We already arrived at my mansion so I went inside and slept immediately.
Morning came really quickly and it felt like I had only slept for two hours even though I slept for over eight hours. I got dressed for work and Mia gave me the file relating to that girl as soon as I arrived at the company.
So her name is Nancy White? No wonder why her skin is as white as snow. She's Catholic and is currently unemployed. Wow! This is great! I can just employ her and make her life miserable in return for what she did yesterday. Since she's from a very small village, she will be happy to work in my company without knowing what's in store for her.
"Advertise a vacancy that can only be visible to her and tell her she's hired after about two to three days of applying" I told Mia.
"How is the search for that girl going? Have you seen anyone similar to the description he gave us?" I asked further.
"We've started searching everywhere both online and physically and we've posted the emblem with a huge bounty in case anyone has seen it. We haven't gotten anything right now but I'm sure it won't be too long before we get something" she explained.
"That's great! According to what Glorio said, we need to take action quickly before they gather more artifacts and become even more powerful" I said.
Glorio said I have a connection with the girl so I wonder if it will be possible to find her with my powers. Even as I'm thinking about finding that girl right now, Nancy's image has never left my head. There's just something about that girl that I can't seem to wrap my head around and I don't know what it is.
"What could possibly make our mighty Prince deep in thought?" Stephanie's voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
"Why are you here?" I asked instead and opened the file on my table.
"You don't want me here? I still don't understand why you dislike me for no reason. I'm the prettiest girl in the demon realm and the most perfect match for you so why do you keep pushing me away? Do you want to get married to a human instead or to a vampire like the demon king?" she asked and I glared at her with rage that was enough to send shivers down her spine.
"I....I shouldn't have said that. I came here today because I heard that the King sent someone yesterday. We were sent here to fulfill the mission together so you should at least let me know what it's about" she said.
"There are two missions and the first mission has nothing to do with you so wait until I complete it first. And don't think about forcing Mia to spill the mission unless you want to return to the demon realm immediately" I threatened.
"You know you are so full of yourself right? Even if I have nothing to do with the first mission, should I not know about it and also get ready to carry out the second mission?" she asked.
"I already told you what I planned to do. From now on, don't come unless I summon you and don't even think about asking someone to spy on me" I warned.
"Fine! Just do everything on your own. Once the mission fails and you lose the King's trust, you will probably come back to your senses" she concluded and left.
What am I supposed to do with her? She's the princess of the most powerful clan in the demon realm and she has always wanted to be with me but I don't just like her for no reason. She was even the one that volunteered to come with me on this mission and my father agreed so that she would watch my back but I don't want her here because I feel she will be an hindrance instead.
