Donald held his cheek for a while still staring at his father. He rubbed his left hand against his nose as he forced a smile. “Okay, so this is how you welcome a son whom you’ve not seen for so many years now?” He looked around and then turned back to his father. “Funny, so funny.”
Mr Rogers adjusted his glasses. “Maybe it will help get you back in order. You will have to focus and direct all of your attention on being a fit successor to the company.” Clears his throat. “I didn’t spend so much money on your education oversees for you to hang out all night.”
“Most times I wonder how you got to father me.” Donald said running his hand on his hair. “But just so you know, this isn’t home but hell.”
Donald walked out of the dinning room as he made his way to his room upstairs. Mr Rogers turned to Rachael as he saw the disappointment look written all over her face. Madam Florence and the other maids hurriedly made their way back to their duty post leaving Rachael and her father alone.
“What? Are you going to walk out on me also?” Mr Rogers said to Rachael.
“Honestly dad, you went too far this time.” She stood up to leave.
“I came down for us to eat dear.”
“I lost my appetite dad. I will be in my room.” She ran upstairs without looking back.
Her dad looked around the dining as he mumble. “Okay fine.” He said down on one of the dinning chair as he picked up one of the napkin to place around his neck before eating.

Lisa and Nancy, Linda’s two step sisters are both used to living an extravagant lifestyle. Lisa the elder sister had little or no respect for Shirley, Linda’s mom and their step mother. To Lisa Shirley can not and would not be compared to her late mom so despite all of the Favours and attention showered on her by her step mom it still wasn’t enough to measure up to that if their real mom. Lisa was not only rude but she was also a hypocrite as she never seem to quit looking for ways to stir up a fight or misunderstanding between her dad and Shirley. She calls her by her first name and gave her a really hard time. Lisa was into fashion as she keep spending her father’s money to promote her fashion brand. She wanted to collaborate with one of the biggest fashion brands in the country. To Lisa fashion was more like a way of getting into lime light and acquiring fame rather than making money as she really never had a passion for it only that she likes dressing up.
Nancy on the other hand was more like a disciple, she acts when Lisa commands her to and becomes calm when she gets a special treatment from Shirley. In other words she was neither on Lisa’s side none her step mom’s side.
Nancy was seated on the couch taking some selfies if her newly done nails when Lisa came in.
Lisa moved closer to Nancy from behind as she stood for a while starring into Nancy’s camera. “ your nails look so nice.”
“Thanks but please move cause you are in my picture.” Nancy said to her without looking back.
Lisa pushed Nancy’s head gently. “ who was your nail technician?”
“Check my next post cause I will be tagging her.” She said as she rolled her eyes.
“Whatever! Where is Shirley?” Lisa asked looking around to see if she could catch a glimpse of her.
“I don’t know.”
She sat down close to Nancy, dropping her hand bag on the couch close to her. “Shirley! Shirley!!”
“Yes, I’m coming.” Shirley their step mom answered as she ran out of the kitchen to the living room. “Oh! Lisa you’re back early. How did your meeting with The OG’s go?”
“What! Who told you about my meeting with the OG’s?” She turned to Nancy who was still on her phone smiling sheepishly. “Nancy!” She yelled.
Nancy jerked as she place her right hand on her right ear. “Lisa why are you yelling at me, do you want to destroy my ear drum?” She adjusted a bit as she hissed.
“I asked you a question silly. Who the heck told Shirley about my meeting?”
“And how am I supposed to know that? She lives here with us so she should know.” She rubbed her hair as she mumbled. “It’s not like it is a secret anyway cause you keep going on and on about it.”
“What did you just say Nancy? So I can’t have my secret and privacy in this house anymore? Huh!”
“Your father told me about it before leaving for work this morning.” Shirley said.
Lisa bit the lower part of her lips as she frowned. “Dad did?” She exhaled loudly. “Now I see why I was rejected back there, because Shirley knew about it.”
“What did you just say?” Shirley asked as she shook her head lightly.
“You heard me Shirley, you are nothing but a real bad luck and I detest every single thing about you.” Lisa frowned. Nancy turned and looked at the both of the both of them as she made a gesture with her shoulder.
Shirley forced a smile as she was already used to Lisa calling her a bad luck and saying all sort of crazy stuffs about her. “I will take it that your meeting didn’t go well and that is why you are upset. Let me go get you something to eat.”
“I said it that you are indeed a wicked woman. And please I don’t need any of your poison that you call food.”
“You have to eat something and rest. You will feel better when you do.” Shirley said with a soft tone.
“I said no!” Lisa stood up angrily.
“I can eat her portion ma’ma.” Nancy chipped in skiing.
Lisa turned to Nancy. “Sure you can eat mine also. You’ve been possessed and it is no news anymore and that is the reason you have no sense.”
“You said you aren’t hungry.” Nancy muttered.
“I will go get you something to eat Nancy.” Shirley said as she turned to leave.
“Shirley, get my bag to my room now!” Lisa yelled as she made her way to her room.
Shirley and Nancy gazed at Lisa silently as she walked out of the living room. Shirley took a deep breathe as she told herself to relax and not react.
