Little girl

1700 Words
Veronica POV I am a bit fascinated but not attracted. I have a sexy mate, as hot as him, who can kiss like a pro, dominant in bed. f**k! What the f**k am I thinking? The man turned in our direction and walked straight towards us. “Well... See who we have here! The Vampire Prince, Edwin William Roberts,” he said sarcastically with a smirk. “I see; you find yourself a mate, huh,” he added, eyeing me up and down. Edwin clenched his fist. His jaw tightened. “Stay. Away. From. Her,” Edwin spat between his gritted teeth. The man smirked. He wanted to get under Eddy’s skin and was almost successful. Edwin stood up, grabbed his collar and jeered, “Don’t provoke me. Don’t think I won’t beat you till death because of the rules.” “Like I care about the f*****g rules,” he scoffed. “And do you think you can even sink your f*****g fangs into a dragon’s scale?” he mocked. This time Edwin punched his nose hard. “But I could break his nose,” Edwin smirked. The man was about to hit Edwin when I ran between them. “Stop! You can’t fight here!” I yelled at them, raising my hand between them. The man’s eyes widened; a woman might never have stopped him. “Well... She is brave. Where did you find that little girl?” he asked Edwin smugly. Little girl! “How dare you call me little girl, you creep!” I pointed my finger at him and was about to kick his balls when Edwin stopped me, wrapping his hands around my waist. “Calm down, little one,” he tried to calm me. “Leave me. I will kick his ass!” I screamed, kicking my legs in the air. “Stop!” a deep voice booming through the room. We all turned to that voice. A beautiful woman with long dark hair approached us. “You can’t fight here, don’t think I can’t complain against you just because you are a dragon,” she said to the man. “Do whatever the f**k you want,” he left, muttering those words. “And you... Keep your anger in control, little girl,” she advised, turning to me. “I am not a little girl!” I yelled, crossing my arms over my chest. “Whatever,” she left with that, leaving me fuming. 5’5” isn’t that small, is it? Edwin cupped my face and kissed me deeply; My anger was long forgotten. He sat me down on the chair. “Better?” he asked, concerned. I nodded. “Who the hell was he?” I asked, still feeling a bit angry at him, not because he started a fight with Edwin, but because he called me a little girl. I am already 23, for f**k’s sake. “Rayan Damian Astor, the dragon prince,” Edwin answered. ‘Rayan. The name sounds so perfect on my tongue. Damn! I shouldn’t think like that.’ “So... If there is a war between the vampire and the dragon, the dragon has the advantage over vampires?” I asked him out of curiosity to prevent my crazy mind from going wild. He shrugged. “Dragons do have the advantage. We can’t compare them in physical strength, but we use magic against them to defeat dragons,” he explained. My eyes bulged out of their sockets. “You have magic!” I screamed out of excitement. Edwin chuckled at my enthusiasm. “Some of us do possess magic,” he shrugged. “You inherit it? Is it a royal thing?” I couldn’t stop but bombarded him with questions. “I do inherit it from my grandfather. My father didn’t inherit magic. He used a witch’s spell to possess the power to protect the Kingdom. And it’s not a royal thing. Any pure-blooded vampire can possess magic, but it’s rare. As far as I know, I am the only vampire who can control the fire elements with my magic,” he exclaimed, looking at his hands. “Wow. Will you show me your magic?” I asked hopefully. “You seem fascinated by the magic,” he stated. Obviously, I am. “Yes. I will,” he said, giving me his most charming smile. I have come to know a lot of things today; about witches, dragons, and vampires. After our dinner, Edwin took me to see the fireworks. The villagers are celebrating the winter festival. Eddy said they welcome every season by celebrating the festivals. We were sitting on a cliff, looking at the brightest sky shining with different colours. My mind can’t help but wonder about one person. Rayan. “Eddy, why did Rayan start fighting with you? You said no one fights in this place,” I asked Edwin, who stiffened for a moment. “He has a grudge against me. According to him, I have killed his… mate. And the irony is, I don’t even remember. Before, I didn’t understand why he was always after my life, but now I can feel why,” he confessed, looking down at his hand. “Little fairy, please stay away from him. He might hurt you by seeking revenge from me. I can’t afford to lose you,” he pleaded, caressing my face. Though I didn’t think Rayan would hurt anyone without reason, I nodded at Edwin, giving him a small peck on the lips. “Do you feel guilty about it?” I asked him. It’s evident in Edwin’s eyes that he blames himself for hurting someone, even though he doesn’t remember whether it was his fault. He nodded with a long sigh. “Have you said sorry to him?” Edwin snapped his head at me as if I was an alien. I have struggled to stop my laughter. “I know, I know. Edwin William Roberts never said sorry. But Eddy, you should have let him know how sorry you are, how much you regret it, and you understand him now,” I explained, squeezing his arm. He let out a deep sigh. “I will do it next time. Okay, baby,” he assured, showing me his parley white teeth. He has a gorgeous smile. His lips are so... Before I could think anything, I pressed my lips to his. Licking, tugging and biting his lower lips for him to give access to explore his delicious mouth. He gaped his lips a little; getting my clue, I shoved my tongue inside his mouth. He responded to my kiss, and his tongue started to move, fighting for dominance. His hands were running up and down from my waist to my curve, mine entangled in his hair while tugging and pulling his head closer. He is so f*****g hot, and I am already wet for him. If he gave in, I would give him everything right now and here, on a cliff, at the end of a clearing, under the night sky, which is glowing with fireworks. But Edwin stopped and retraced his hands and lips from mine. Guilt was swarming into his eyes. Why is he guilty? Does he want me? “You don’t want me?” I whimpered, voicing my thoughts. He looked at me as if I had poured a bucket of cold water on him. He shook his head vigorously. “No, little one. That’s not the case. I want you... I want you so badly that I can’t explain,” he protested, holding my face in his hands. “Then why did you stop?” I asked. I have been frustrated at his behaviour for the past month whenever it comes to touching me. “I am... I am scared. I might hurt you,” he confessed. “I am not fragile, you know,” I snapped. This time I was angry. How can he hurt me by only having s*x? “I am not a normal human either, little fairy. I am a vampire. I might lose control and sink my fangs into your neck and...” he closed his eyes for a moment. “... I have killed many people, sucking their blood, draining them, leaving them lifeless. I am not as good as you think I am, little one. I am evil. A bloodthirsty monster,” he uttered, lowering his gaze to his hand. I stared at him, stunned. So, this was what he thought whenever he touched me that he was evil and he didn’t deserve me! “Fine. Let me ask you something. Have you ever laid a finger on someone innocent, weak and refused to give what you want?” he shook his head. “The people or creature you have killed were evil and tried to hurt innocent people?” he nodded. “If unknowingly you have killed some innocent people, will you feel guilty about them?” he nodded again. “See, you aren’t evil. Evil people don’t feel guilty. You have saved me, Eddy. You are a saviour, not a monster,” I exclaimed. He was looking at me with unreadable eyes. Seems that he needs some more convincing. “Okay, let’s see it this way. If a snake kills a frog to satisfy his hunger, will you call the snake a killer?” he shook his head slowly. “You won’t. Cause it’s his food chain. It’s natural. God created them this way. In the same way, you are nothing but a beautiful creation of god-like his other creation,” I explained, and this time he gave me his sweetest smile. “And you know what, you won’t hurt me. If I had been too fragile to handle you, your blood goddess wouldn’t have given me to you. Will she?” he shook his head with a content smile. “So, don’t hesitate to touch me next time. Okay?” “Okay, my little fairy,” he cupped my face and pecked my lips, pulling me onto his lap and cradling me protectively in his arms. I didn’t realize when I fell asleep in my safe haven.
