A Luna's Redemption: Fated to the cursed Alpha

CHAPTER THREE : A ROGUE'S BITTERNESS

DAVINA POV

Asher stood boldly in front of the circuit switch responsible for the fence and looked at me with the same look of hatred he had on his face earlier.By now his men had caught up to me and were standing behind me,I knew I was cornered but what I wasn't prepared for was to see my best friend Eloise standing next to Asher,was Asher really going as far as using Eloise to threaten me ?

But to my surprise, she pointed at me saying “There she is,I told you she was going to escape,it just proves she did it,she is the killer, she wouldn't have no reason to run if she wasn't the killer. Seize her”. All the men focused on me with each weapon, some afraid to come after their once Luna while some were ready to charge at me with immediate effect.

I was shocked by what Eloise had to say about me, she gave me the key to escape,how…how could she? it was getting clearer to me, she must have pointed my direction to the soldiers when I was going to tell Asher about his dad,I felt betrayed, she was my friend and I loved her,how could she betray me so easily?

I knew I needed to act fast if I wanted to make it out alive,either I risk it by jumping on the fence or get captured only to be killed by my mate.I couldn't let the latter happen so I opted for option one,I rather get electrocuted to death than give Eloise the satisfaction of watching me suffer in a cell before dying.

Still in my wolf form,I jumped towards the fence and saw everyone trying to come forward, but it was impossible because Asher had switched on the circuit,I braced myself for the impact but nothing, no shock.I could hear loup gasps from people as they watched the sparkling iron, having no impact on me as I kept going up the fence.I had no idea if it was pure luck or a machine disfunction but I knew something was working in my favor.

I used my sharp claws to support myself as I climbed over the wrought iron, making it easier to move with speed and make my way to the top of the fence.I jumped towards the other side and this caused a sharp pain on my leg which got caught in a sharp nail. My wolf howled in pain,I whimpered internally but knew it was time to go before they caught up to me.

I kept going uphill,I had no idea where I was going towards.I had never been this far off the fence, at least not through this route,my limbs were killing me but I was determined not to die,not until I had gotten my vengeance on Eloise who tried to set me up,I was going to make her pay but for now I had no choice but to run as fast as I could.

I placed my ears on the ground to listen for any sound but nothing. Everywhere was quiet,this made me feel a little secure.I went towards a cliff to shapeshift before bursting into tears,my knees were a mess,it had blood coming out of it and was a mess.

I had no family to run to.I was the orphan turned Luna who had always known her loved her Alpha,he was the only family I had ever known I loved. His father treated me so well I couldn't think of doing anything to harm him yet he was gone and Asher blames me for it. Where would I go?

TWO MONTHS LATER

I hear sharp sounds of footsteps headed in my direction and take out my weapon,a sharpened stick ready for attack,no one ever passes here,at least not during sunset. It is a deserted land filled with steepy rocks and a large river which has been my source of water for the past two months. I peep out of the cave and see two men in Asher's uniform setting up for the night. They must have been back from a long journey. From the looks of things,it was getting dark and needed a place to stay for the night.

I stood by the edge of the cave and watched as they set their fire using dried leaves and make a shelter with a camp tent,both of them discussing among each other.I was about to head back inside when I heard the first guy say something

“Our Alpha is planning on taking Eloise as his new Luna. Don't you find it a bit suspicious that two months after our former Luna goes missing,he gets entangled with her best friend”.

“Let it be Jack, you and I both know we cannot do anything about it. We do as we are told,if our Luna wants a diamond ring for her wedding, it is our job to find it”, The other guy responded.

I feel my heart shatter into a million pieces upon hearing this as tears fall from my eyes, forgetting about the two people talking. I make a sharp sound that alerts them.

“Who is there?” I heard the first guy jack say.

I slowly tiptoed back to the cave as the second guy moved forward. He inspected the area and told the first guy it must have been an animal. They began packing their bags and got back on the move, probably to find a more secured location while I cried my eyes out.

The moon was fully out by midnight,it was when our wolves were the strongest, but right now I felt so weak as I curled up into a ball on the floor,a cold wind gushed past me making me shiver. All I could think of was Asher getting married to my best friend two months after my escape, reminding me of how heart broken I was.I heard a strange sound and was back to my full alert mode, holding on to the stick I knew would do little to nothing to secure me.

The footstep grew heavier and heavier,this was no ordinary person,this was something else,it must be an animal,I was about to transform when I felt something hurl at me, it's sharp canine biting me by the legs and dragging me out of the cave,I was shocked to see Asher's wolf looking down at me as he transformed back to his human form.

He had the same hateful look on his face from months ago,he leaned forward and dragged me by my hair painfully a smirk making its way to his face before saying “ When my guys told me they had seen a rogue by the cliff,I thought I needed to check it out myself and as luck would have it,it was you,I am here to avenge my father's death”.

I was tired of being the weak girl he trampled on as he saw fit “So you decided to marry my best friend,was that also on the basis that I killed your father or you just couldn't wait to get rid of me? “ I spat in his face.

A look of surprise crossed his face but he masked it with that of disdain “At least she is not a murderer like you”.

“You both deserve each other”.

“I would see you in hell” he brought out a pistol and aimed it at me. I mustered every strength in my body and stood up, running as fast as I could

“Bang”,the sound of a gunshot fired at me was the last thing I heard as I fell flat into the river and darkness took over.
