"And because of the two white wolf parents, she is also a rainbow-born. She has all the elements," Jakes tries to make them understand things. Aden takes a deep breath in, pinching his nose with two fingers, closed eyes, and thinking about everything he just learned. Doc's brain has started to work overtime at the thought that Kay may be able to use a hand from the tech in front of him. "What is the possibility that the hand you need may be able to help you?" Doc looks up at Kay who is staring at him too. "You are not serious about that?" Jake sounds discouraged by the thought. "We've already had so many deaths because the animal part does not like the machine part," Jake reminds them, and Doc frowns at this while he looks over the dead body. "But they were all beasts. You two are not 100% beasts but supernatural. You are a different species to the beasts even though you are animals too," Doc explains of how he sees them. It makes sense to Jake and Kay. He was born as a human. Lived as a human until he turned 18 a week ago. Kay was born a full wolf, with no human attributes. "We can try," Aden agrees, and Doc nods at him. "Okay, everyone out. Kay, please stay here so that I can see which part I should use," Doc shows her to move to his side. Aden and Jake left to give him the room he needed. Doc measures Kay's left arm and writes it down. Next, he takes that measurement and holds it against Kay's right arm. Nodding. He measures the arm she has left on her right. Write it down and do the math. "Luckily the tech arm will adjust itself to its new body over time, like a week or two," Doc explains, and Kay takes a deep breath in before she leaves so that Doc can start to work on removing the needed arm. Jake eyes Kay as she closes the door for Doc. "Hey," she smiles at him and he sighs. "If you are not a match for the White Coats, how will the rest of that timeline deal with them?" he asks concerned about their friends and family. "I need to figure that out and get back to them, but for now I will need to discover this world and understand how it works," Kay smiles at herself. "You are crazy, you know that?" Jake asks, not being funny at all. "Yes, I know. I have never met a normal person," Kay moves her shoulders to show that she does not know what he is talking about. "Don't ditch my statement like that!" Jake walks behind her as she goes outside, where Aden is busy talking to a beast with horse ears and a tail that keeps on moving. "And why are you showing your tail and ears?" Jake keeps on complaining as he follows her. "Why not? I will blend in with the rest of them," Kay points to the other beasts. Jake facepalm himself and just shakes his head no. He met Kay once and she was still weird to him. Even now he can't get a grip on her, she is all over the place and is not showing her emotions as one would think she would for being a female. He learned that even she-wolves get emotional just like human females do. Which he finds sad because he would have thought that beginning a superior species would be mentally stronger to handle the emotions better. Maybe that is just how females of all species are. "The scans they did on you already told them of your animal DNA, so why not make it easier and just blend in?" Kay asks him friendly without judgment on his choice to be human. "That is just silly, I have been human my whole life," Jake argues with her and she just smiles at him. Her calm and peaceful demeanor is irritating him. Maybe it is because she is bothering his demons. He does not know about a life of peace. He questions everyone that does good towards him. He never had a hand that would just help him because they wanted to. Even his pack did not do him any good, he always had to do something for them just so that they could treat him well or get wood.
He ran away when he had his first shift. He felt free and had enough of everyone disrespecting him. Now that he thinks about it, Kay's pack members were very curious about him. Asked him all sorts of questions that day. "Kay, why did your pack ask me a lot of questions that day when you guys were there?" he needs to know why. "Because we wanted you in our pack." "Why did you want me in your pack? I am nothing special," Jake is not trying to believe her. "I like unique things. I could see how unhappy you were there. I wanted to give you a life better than them," Kay looks him in the eyes as she speaks these words, trying to convince him that what she said is true. "I am a human mixed with snow leopards. How can that be unique?" he starts to get angry at this conversation. "I do not see you as half, I see you as a whole person. What your bloodline is made of, does not bother me." Kay walks to Aden after she tells Jake what she sees and the boy just stares at her as she walks to their master.
"Master Aden," Kay gets his attention, and the beast horse he was speaking to looks at Kay too. He immediately bows his head to Kay, showing his respect for her. "Queen," he stays bowed. "Stand up, and Hi, call me Kay" Kay smiles at him. He gives a little nod and stands up again. Kay suddenly notices that the man has hooves as legs and she suddenly looks to his side. He is a centaur. He has a horse body and a human half as the horse's head, but he is not as high as a horse yet.
"He's a teenager and still needs to grow," Aden smiles at her for not freaking out as most would do. "Wow, can he be ridden?" Kay looks at Aden, her ears indicating that she is curious again. "Some of them will allow humans to ride them. But not everyone treats them well. I keep a herd here that I rescued from abusive masters," Aden smiles at the foal. "Wow, dis is awesome. Can I meet them?" Kay asks and her tail is also showing her excitement. Aden laughs at her and shows her no. "Not today, little wolf. We need to get your arm fixed first," Aden tells her, and Kay nods at this.
She won't push for him to show her the Centaurs. She will do as he says for now. "So, what do you think of Jake?" Aden asks as he sees Jake walk to the other cat beasts. He had his ears and tails out, just like Kay did. "You told him that having ears and a tail will make him fit in better?" Aden asks with a knowing smile on his face. "No, I just said it made me fit in," Kay gives a naughty giggle and Aden just shakes his head. "Thank you for telling me, Fare, I'll send the doc as soon as we can," Aden gives the boy a little rub on his leg.
Fare has a light chestnut-colored coat and dark brown hair on his human head. It looks nice. "See you around, Fare," Kay gives him a toothy smile and Fare gives one in return before he disappears. "I am done with the removal process!" Doc comes out and looks at Kay. "Are you ready?" he asks with a big smile and Kay nods. "On one condition. I need to go with you to help the horsies," Kay stands at her point and smiles.
"Sure," Doc agrees, and Aden just shakes his head at her, who will get her way at any opportunity she can get. "Come one," Doc pulls Kay's hand with him and he lets go as soon as they are in the house. "I take it that you heal quickly, so I will need to put you under with Wolfbane to stop the healing process," he explains. Kay nods at this, hoping it will work just long enough to complete the process that is needed for her to have a right hand again. In his workspace, Kay finds another half-wolf beast.
She is a mixed dog beast. "Your kind listens well to commands and she will be assisting me today," Doc smiles at Kay and the girl with light brown hair and pointy black edges on her ears bows her head at Kay. Showing her respect. Kay greets her and they let her lay down on the other bed.
