Three years ago
The sun shone brightly on the town of Hempstead. A town filled with one of the strongest clans of werewolves, which people acknowledged as the Moonlight Pack, It was filled with the most bloody werewolves who had been trained in the various techniques of elimination. Their younger ones were powerful enough to defeat a normal wolf in a one-on-one battle.
The town had survived one of the most raging wars some years ago. The war between their town and the orcs is over, and we're recovering quite quickly.
Octavia Ashina and her sister Kalevala Ashina had been raised by the people of the pack when their parents died in the battle between the werewolf and the orcs. They had both lived fending for themselves and hunting down prey, but Octavia was weaker than her younger sister for some reasons unknown to anyone, not even herself. She had lost confidence and hope in the world several times and was always brought back to reality by her younger sister, Kalevala Ashina, until one particular day. She had gotten tired during training and had been insulted for being a weakling. She had been accused of having the lack of willpower she was expected to possess, and the words stung her hard. Perplexed by their words, she fell into depression and headed for a cliff, whose end couldn't be seen by the werewolves or humans. She sought the Lord's forgiveness, drowning in her tears, before moving towards the narrow edge of the cliff.
"You don't have to do this to yourself," she had heard a voice say as she was about to reach the edge.
"What do you know about me? Let me just die in peace and not hinder the growth of this town. Even if I live, no one will acknowledge me, so let me just die in peace. The population of this town wouldn't decrease since I don't belong here."
"Don't lie to yourself. I know you damn well. You have the courage and the insights; you have what I need the most, the spiritual blessing, she heard the voice say as she turned to look back at him. The sight of Jeovanni Lum, the next Alpha of the pack, shocked her.
"To think you want to stop one of the townspeople because you are the upcoming alpha means nothing to me. I want to stop living this shameful life of weakness and move on to the land of my ancestors."
"Your ancestors won't be happy to see you if you haven't achieved your sole purpose in this world."
"I don't have a purpose. I am just so useless, she said as tears escaped her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
"Octavia Ashina, I have been watching you for so long, and I have seen what a wonderful person you are. You care for the people you really love and always try to protect them, even though you are busy, and to top it off, you have the special blessing that only occurs in the wolf bloodline in a thousand years. I am sure your parents won't be happy if you want your life here.".
"Then what the heck am I supposed to do? I have a blessing that I can't even use. I am the weakest in the town. I can't even transform in time. What am I going to do with my life?"
"Octavia, what you are going to do with your life is your decision, not mine. I just want to advise you that the hardest periods are the state-changing parts of life. If you know you want to live up to your life's expectations, then you have to live and keep on moving, because when there's life, there's hope." Jeovanni motivated her by moving towards her, grabbing her hands, and pulling her away from the edge of the cliff.
"Do you know the name of this cliff?" she asked him as she sat on the floor facing the moon, which had appeared while she was attempting to commit suicide.
"It is the cliff of hope and wants. Anyone who falls into the cliff has hope, and the legend says that he or she will be transported to a world where hope and wants will always be by your side. Why did you ask?"
"I want a good life for myself, and I don't mind taking my own life to get it," she replied as tears flowed down her eyes.
"You look cute right now.".
"Stop trying to make me smile. It is futile."
"No, really, you look cute and pretty, and I don't know how to say this, but anyone who mated with you would be one lucky guy." He said it as a smile formed across her lips.
"You know what? You should stop trying to make me smile. I am depressed right now.".
"You know what? You have pretty brown eyes for a girl willing to die. How about I take you out for dinner? Bills on me".
"You're the next Alpha; it would be rude if I didn't serve you."
"That's the one thing I don't like about this town. Because I am the next Alpha, everyone respects me for my title but not for being me. I just don't know how to comprehend it. I feel lonely.
"Now you know the feeling," she sighed, looking up into the sky.
"Have you ever wondered why the sky becomes so dark at night?"
"Yeah, it's to make room for the shining stars, just like you."
"You know how to make one happy. No wonder you are the alpha of the pack, she said as her sad face lightened up.
"Thanks for the compliment. We should talk more often. I could give you some tips on better transformation and train you," he said as she nodded. I agree.
"Let me get my necklace so we can head back to town," she told him as she moved towards the cliff. As she bent to pick up her necklace, the cliff began to crumble at the edge as the ground beneath her began to fall.
"Help me."
