Bella stared at him lost in thought as she let her eyes from his head to toe following the movement of the drips of water running down his hair after his bath and how he carefully Incorporated his body lotions with details.
“Your food is ready,e at" He further emphasized while she noticed that she was lost in thought.
His cooking skills too were way beyond average and for a few minutes, she imagined what it would feel like to be married to him forever.
It is too early to fall in love with a stranger who I just met Bella soliloquized quietly after Alex had gone out to check his trap.
She hadn't felt that way towards anyone before in a very long while and she convinced herself that the only way she could make him love her was to completely conceal the Werewolf part of her.
“The Humans and the Werewolves have nothing in common" The Alpha always emphasized. Although she didn't know why that was so and she never cared to ask, She never imagined that she would be in close contact someday with a human in a foreign Region.
While she had her breakfast of Spring Rolls and stuffed White bread, She concluded in her mind that returning to the Castle was going to be a burden. She knew her Father, the Alpha, was going to be worried but she would rather stay in a place where she was loved and cared for and still have her freedom without bearing the burdens of being the princess that everyone would look up to.
She enjoyed it there with Alex because she became the kind of Friend she never even had with Ethella. He was everything she wanted in a mate and now knowing that werewolves and humans are not allowed to mate, she had to find a way to deceive Alex into loving her.
The Sunset at Zumba Region was always an opportunity to sit and think for Alex after a very long day and as usual, he had asked Bella to join him in his garden for a moment of relaxation
“I don't know your name yet," Alex said.
“I'm Bella, the…."Bella said, cutting herself off sharply trying not to reveal her status as a werewolf and a daughter to the Great Alpha.
“The what…?" Alex asked
“No, never mind, I'm Bella, that's all and I am from the Maya Kingdom" She lied
Ooh, Maya is not so far from here"... Alex Affirmed as Bella nodded in Affirmation.
CHAPTER FOUR
“You have to go back tomorrow, it's been two days here, your people must have been worried about you and I can see that you are recuperating very fast"...Alex said to her.
“Well, I know, but I love it here. I love it here with you, Thank you for saving my life, I wish I could stay here all my life". Bella confessed.
The perfect arrangement of her hair made Alex wonder if the gods were partial when creating her.
He has been a man known for strength and Power. Being Vulnerable wasn't something he was known for but against his consent, he was beginning to fall in love with a stranger that he just met.
She gave him her head on his lap and he narrated how he had always lived his life being a shepherd for others and always expected to appear strong at all times. He struck her hair calmly as he shared how he is known as the greatest hunter in his Country and how no game escapes him.
The warmth of his lap made Bella more drawn to him. She has always been a weak one. Being taken care of by her overprotective parents but she was starved of love and affection.
“So tell me in detail, what happened that night?" Alex asked for the second time hoping that this time she would be able to give a more clear account.
“I don't really remember, but It was my 18th birthday the night before I was here and now I can't say what happened in between. I know that I am supposed to be worried that I am in a strange land but I feel peace here" Bella answered.
“You were diagnosed with a poisonous substance, How did that happen?" Alex asked.
“Hmmm…What!" She said as she lifted her head in shock.
“How did I get poisoned, Who poisoned me"..?
“I wouldn't know, I found you in the forest near the path where I placed my trap and brought you home, your beauty even in that State attracted me and I vowed to save your life" Alex answered
“Thank you again…" Bella said, returning her head to the warmth of his lap as he continued to rub her head gently.
“I don't seem to remember anything, the pictures are vague, my friend Ethella left the party to run an emergency and I was taking a drink, and the next thing I am in your chambers…" Bella said
“Well, the dots are getting clearer…Your friends may have poisoned you and dumped you to die in the forest" Alex said with confidence.
“But I don't wrong anyone, why would they want to poison me?" Bella asked Rhetorically.
"Ethella cannot poison me" Bella added
"Well, I don't know either," Alex said
The nightfall came almost immediately, meeting them at the garden as they discussed and smiled to themselves. They were beginning to enjoy each other's company and even the thought of Bella leaving the next day scared Alex. He wished that he would stay longer but he was worried for her people.
They went inside the chambers when the cold became intense.
“I will make sauce for dinner while you prepare the fire for warmth," Alex said
“You know, unusually, I have only known you for two days and yet I feel like I have known you all my life. I used to live here with my sister before she left to be married and she was everything I had after our parents died. No one wanted to be my friend because I was feared and dreaded and I didn't give them the chance to. I have only one friend, Collins……" Alex narrated as they performed their different delegations
“Check the Sauce, it's burning" Bella cut him short.
“Ouch, get me the towel please," Alex asked.
“We will have to manage the food that way…" Bella said, mocking him for burning a simple meal.
While they chatted, the door opened slightly letting out its usual noise.
“There is only one person that never knocks," Alex said.
"Greetings, my friend," Collins said as he entered his chambers
"It's late, why are you here by this time?"
"Well, I only came to your neighborhood and decided to check on you and your guest. I can see that she is recovering".
"Yes, she is. Thanks to Elder Mar and you too" Alex said
"How are you doing?" Collins asked Bella touching her neck
"I am doing fine now, thank you"
"I see"
"This is Collins, the only friend I have managed to have in a long while". Alex said letting out a mild laugh as they laughed together with him.
"Sit, let's eat," Alex told Collins.
"Eat what? Is this your burnt offering? Collins said laughing mockingly pointing at the burnt dinner.
"I don't blame you at all," Alex said, laughing too.
"I will be on my way already, I have accomplished my mission," Collins said
"Alright, Friend. Goodnight. I will try to see you tomorrow"
"That's good," Collins replied, jamming the door behind him.
Alex and Bella retired to bed after dinner.
