Chapter 9

It had been several hours. Crow and Airi had walked around the mall several times going into several different stores, hand in hand. They had played with some furniture in one store and some clothes in another. Eventually they had decided to eat at a Subway and grab some ice cream at another store.
They had decided to do one more thing before leaving to go back home, taking a picture at a photo booth.
The sky was beginning to darken a bit and they stood outside of the photo booth, behind what appeared to be a line consisting of two females and one male. The three had been watching through a little screen next to the entrance, getting a glimpse of what this couple’s pictures would look like when they finished. The last photo the couple had taken was one of them kissing, which got a bit of a reaction from the group of three watching from the little screen. They smiled, waiting for the couple to get out so they could speak their thoughts.
The couple got out, a boy who appeared to be the same age as Crow with hair that was long for a guy and a girl who was a year younger with longer hair than the guy.
Crow paid attention to what they were wearing, the guy a thin red and black striped hoodie that had three buttons, blue skinny jeans, and black shoes. The girl was wearing a black and red plaid button up shirt without sleeves, a black skirt, and black chucks.
The tallest in the group, a female who was only a couple inches taller than the other two, turned to Crow and Airi.
“You two can go, we’re not in line.”
“Oh, thank you.” Crow responded.
The group left, the couple leaving with their hands linked together, both smiling. The tallest in the group teased the couple, who both began to blush a bit in response. The other guy in the group appeared to like the other girl, who looked to be about the same height.
Crow smiled and turned to the photo booth in front of him and began to walk in it’s direction. The two entered, Airi being the one closest to the exit, the curtain blocking it. Crow put in fifty cents into the machine and the screen in front of him gave him many options on what to do. Crow decided to stick with a standard one for couples.
The first picture taken was of them looking at the camera, nothing special taking place. The second picture was of them sitting closer together, their hands with the bracelets visible by being held up, their fingers intertwined. The third one was becoming set up and Crow had no idea what to do next. The only thing that came to him was what the last couple did, picture of them mid-kiss. He looked at Airi wondering if she’d let him. Airi had been looking back at him, the same thought floating in her head. The two smiled at each other, realizing they had thought of doing the same thing.
“So~... Should we?” Crow asked, time running out.
Airi only nodded and moved closer.
Crow in response moved closer as well.
They had become really close when the sound of the shutter clicking could be heard. They looked at the source of the sound, the machine. It had taken their picture, the two of them visibly trying to kiss but not doing it fast enough, the space between the two had been evidence.
Crow looked down, damn it I took too long!
Airi laughed a little bit, her disappointment not being shown but not entirely non-existent. When she looked back at the screen she noticed that the machine wasn’t trying to print the pictures just yet. On the screen appeared the words: “Bonus Picture!!!”
Airi began to smile, “Crow look!”
Crow did as he was told, a smile slowly making its way to his face. He turned to Airi and when she looked his way he kissed her. He didn’t stop until he heard the shutter of the camera click, and even then he refused to stop. When he did stop he embraced her in his arms, the happiness radiating off of the two of them. Eventually Airi reached down and picked up the two picture strips, handing one to Crow. The bonus picture could be seen at the bottom of the strip.
Airi took Crow’s hand into hers and walked out of the booth, the smile never leaving her face.
