Chapter 6

Lily pov

“Lily here” I hear my dad’s voice call me and I look at them.

“Mom, Dad,” I say and I run to them. I hug them

“We missed you, honey”

“I missed you too Mom. I’m happy that I’m here. How is everyone?” I ask and Dad takes my suitcase

“They are excited that they will see you.”

“How is my little nephew?”

“Beautiful,” she says and we walk to the car. On the way to the house, they ask about work and how happy they are that I take the holidays off to see them.

“Lily “ my sister yells when we arrive at the house. She gives the baby to her husband and she runs to me

“Zoey,” I shout and we hug

“I missed so much”

“Me too Zoey. How are you?”

“Tired but happy,” she says laughing

“I can see that. You shining” I say and I see Charlie her husband with the baby

“Hey, Dad. How is it going?” I ask and he hugs me

“We are good. Here is your nephew Scott”

“Oh you name him by your dad,” I say and I smile. Charlie lost his dad a few months before the baby was born.

“Well it felt right,” my sister says

“Ok. Let me fresh up and then I will play all day with him.” I say and they laugh. I went to my old room, my dad already had my thighs in there. I texted Chris that I arrived and I went for a shower. I wore something comfortable and casual and I went downstairs. When I reached the kitchen door my phone rang and I saw it was Chris. I walk to the living room to be alone and I answer

“Hey handsome”

“Hey, beautiful. All good?”

“Yes, the flight was cool. I’m in the house now. I’m ready to spend the day with my adorable nephew”

“Should I get jealous?” He asks and I laugh

“No, you have nothing to worry about. I will return to you”

“Good. I’m leaving for my parents now. I decided to go from today”

“That’s great. They will miss you too” We chat for a while and then we end the call. I turn around and I see Zoey

“Hey, all good. You blushing?” she asks with a smirk

“I know you hear me on the phone”

I say and I take Scott, mini Charlie, in my arms

“You know that it looks to Charlie right ?”

“Yeah, I know. He is handsome”

“Yes Scott you are,” I say with a baby voice

“So who are you talking to? I know that was your boyfriend. You sounded like me when I talk Charlie”

“So cheesy?” I say to make fun of her

“I will not comment on that. You sound exactly like I am so don’t.” She comes closer and I play with little Scott.

“So who is he? Is Chris Blake.? Tell me is Chris Blake. I saw photos with you two” I sigh. Since we are little kids I tell everything to Zoey. She is two years older and she always gives the best advice.

“He is. But don’t start yelling about it. We want to keep a low profile” I see a big smile on her face

“Oh my God. My sister dates Chris Blake”

“Shhh. I tell you not to yell about it”

“I’m sorry I’m excited. So tell me how he is in person?” I smile when I think how romantic is for me. And think that he says he is not.

“You saw him in movies?”

“Duh, of course”

“He is even better. Kind, gentle, and when he wants tough and passionate”

“Tell me tell me,” she says excitedly

“What else do you want? He is the first guy that makes me fall in love with him so fast. He makes everything look easy”

“You had a crush on him before,” she says with a smirk

“I did. But now I know him as a person and he is amazing” She smiles clapping her hands

“I’m so happy for you,” she says and she hugs me

“Why are you hugging?” I hear Dad say and I see him enter the living room

“Nothing just we are happy to see each other after so long,” I say to avoid the conversation about Chris. Zoey takes the hit and asks me about work. The rest of the day we talked, we ate the delicious foods that my mom made and we had a great day. The next day I went with my mom, Zoey, and little Scott shopping in the town. I didn’t have the time to buy any presents so was a good chance to make gifts for everyone. It’s lunchtime and we sit in a restaurant in the mall and we are ready to order.

“Lily?” I hear a female voice calling me. I turn around and I see an old classmate from high school

“Jessie?” I say and I stand up. I hug her and she hugs me back

“How are you? It has been years” she says and she looks at me. I took her too and I see she hasn’t changed much. She is still the blonde beautiful girl that she was in high school, just almost ten years older. The time is good for her.

“Yeah, my work doesn’t allow me to come as often as I want”

“Yes, your mom has told me that you work in a fashion magazine. That you always want it”

“Yeah, I see you defame chef. Your dream”

“I guess we are lucky. I returned from Italy last month, I worked there for six years”

“Wow. You live your dream.” She laughs and we chat a little before returning to the kitchen. When the food came my mom asked me about Chris.

“So sweetie. I saw some photos” she starts saying and I look at her

“Is true. You dating that actor?” Zoey is also looking at me. I swallow my bite and I answer

“Yes, mom. We are dating for two months now. And to answer before you ask. It’s too soon to tell you something more. But you should know that he treats me well and he takes care of me” She looked at me seriously and then gave me a small smile

“If you are good sweetie I’m fine. Just be careful, I have heard that those celebrities are frivolous” she says and I smile

“Don’t worry mom. I’m an adult, if we break up I will survive” I say and we continue with our food. Later Zoey and my mom return home because little Scott gets tired. I continued my shopping when my phone rang and it was Chris.

“Hello handsome”

“Hey, beautiful. How are you?”

“I’m good. You?”

“Except for the fact that I miss you terribly, I’m fine” I giggle

“I miss you too. What are you doing now?”

“I’m at the restaurant. Helping my parents. You?”

“At the mall. I’m shopping, you know I didn’t have the time to buy presents”

“I know. You having fun?”

“Yes. I missed my family a lot. And Scott is so adorable.”

“I bet, “ he says

“How are your nieces?” I ask

“They grow fast and they become more beautiful”

“Just like their uncle” I hear him laugh, is music to my ears.

“Thank you beautiful.” He makes a pause

“I told my parents about you. They see photos of you”

“And?” I ask worried

“They want to meet you. They have waited many years to hear me talk to a girl with so much excitement and they are curious”

“That’s good right?”

“Of course is good.”

“Zoey and my mom asked me about you. They saw the photos too”

“Should I be worried?” He asks and I laugh

“No. My sister is excited that I date Chris Blake and my mom is fine with the fact that I am happy”

“Are you happy?” He asks and I frown

“I’m happy. I wasn’t happier in my life” I say smiling to myself

“I’m happy too beautiful” We chat a little more and after I finish my shopping I return to my parent's house. For dinner, we went to my sister’s house and there I gave presents to everyone. The rest of the days until New Year pass like that. With walks in the city and amazing food.
