This poem is about dealing with a toxic family and figuring out how to heal the broken pieces. Mind being a war zone, body covered in invisible scars and trauma ruling over you like a dead weight. Just trying to survive.

we survived child rape and molestation, we took our abuser to court and won. he was convicted on 13 counts and, will spend 39.5 years in prison. this is what i wrote after getting justice. I'm still processing and coping with everything. I'm learning that healing takes time and patience's. I made sure to also share my whiteness impact statement as well.

just a grown kid realizing she should have taken her parent's feelings into account while they were still alive. just pouring out my feelings about a little of what i lived through and seeing parts i wished i would have chosen to do better.

I wrote this after my older sister Anna ran away. Her nickname is Nanna. Anna is only 9 months and 6 days older then me so we are kinda close. I was sad when she ran away, she was 17 and I was 16 at the time. I poured my feelings into poem while she was away. I hope you like. She did eventually come back.
