Eldritch Creature’s Guide follows a story about the self-finding journeys of an Earthly being named Samiel Zentaur, who receives a reward because he successfully accesses the Akashic Records by himself. He chooses Nirvana over becoming a God, and as a result, Samiel gains new unique classes and ultimate abilities.

At the same time, unique classes, ultimate abilities, and the rare a.k.a innate skills are not the only things that Samiel gets from choosing Nirvana over Transcendence.

As we read Eldritch Creature’s Guide, we’ll find out that he also encounters the Outer God Azathoth, who appoints Samiel as his disciple to spread madness just like what Eldritch creatures have done to other beings.

Later on, we know the Outer God Azathoth, the God whom Samiel of Eldritch Creature’s Guide ends up worshipping, has other aliases: the Daemon Sultan, the Blind Idiot God, and the Primordial Demiurge. Meanwhile, as the new worshipper and disciple, Samiel has to undergo quests from his God to level up and unlock the skills of the Holy Class Apostle class.

The presence of Akashic Records and the afterlife scenes are two things that make the Eldritch Creature’s Guide novel so interesting to read!

Part 1: The Author Of Eldritch Creature’s Guide

Eldritch Creature's Guide by Trafford

In my opinion, Trafford, the author of Eldritch Creature’s Guide, is one of the world’s most productive authors! He (well, he is a male – just look at the author’s bio) is not just another author who has written since looooong… time ago. Unlike most authors who have just started writing (again) in the past 1-2 years, Trafford has been dedicated to writing novels since 2017.

His lengthy writing experiences lead him to be one of the most productive authors with stories that are rich in symbolism. Eldritch Creature’s Guide is only one of the novels written by Trafford that has such meaningful symbolism. Since I love everything metaphysics, I love the ways Trafford pictures the Akashic Records and the Nirvana and transcendental aspects.

In the meantime, my curious mind also leads me to the public bio from Trafford, the author of one of the best-selling candidates (at least for me), the Eldritch Creature’s Guide. It seems to me that Trafford is one of the most interesting authors in his ways of describing himself. I love the part where he said, “It means devil, right?”

Trafford himself is a master of writing anything that involves the dark sides of life, including devils, deaths, and more. Azathoth of Eldritch Creature’s Guide is one of those characters, and we’re going to see more as we read the novel.

Eldritch Creature’s Guide Chapter 2

Eldritch Creature's Guide Chapter 2

I would say that Chapter 2 of Eldritch Creature’s Guide is one of the most interesting-to-read chapters of the novel. It’s because we learn the history of Samiel before he enters his Akashic Records and his belief systems before he meets the God he chooses to worship.

Here, we learn that Samiel of Eldritch Creature’s Guide chooses his current name because he doesn’t want to sound dull with the “usual” names for guys. The formerly atheist Samiel chooses to worship the Outer God Azathoth because the Outer God has far more attractive characteristics than other Gods that he knows from the Akashic Record dimension.

Now, he’s ready to embark on his Nirvana journey!

Eldritch Creature’s Guide Chapter 8

Eldritch Creature's Guide Chapter 8

I immediately know that Trafford as the author of Eldritch Creature’s Guide novel is going to introduce a new character when I read Chapter 8’s title, which is “Yvraine”. The character’s full name is Yvraine Nesser Silvermoon, and she is the elf who witnesses Samiel killing 40 human knights who turn into undead skeleton warriors.

The two quickly get intimate as they take time in knowing each other. So, this part of the Eldritch Creature’s Guide book is why the readers keep on shipping Samiel with Yvraine. Additionally, in this chapter, we also know that Samiel is unlike most followers of the Outer God in ways that he doesn’t lose his sanity.

Eldritch Creature’s Guide Chapter 13

Eldritch Creature's Guide Chapter 13

There are many mythical creatures that we can witness in Chapter 13 of Eldritch Creature’s Guide.

As for the stories of this chapter, the author opens them up by telling us that Samiel is devouring the souls of humans and Orks (which, I believe, is another way of saying the “Orc” tribe), and that he prefers humans to Orks even though the increased Mana is the only thing that he gets.

When I look back at this chapter’s title (“Traps and Deception 101”), it also becomes clear to me that Samiel uses the combination of Black Magic and Necromancy Arts skills to banish the super-strong Rock Trolls. As we read further, we also know other in-novel races, such as goblins.

Part 3: Alternative To Eldritch Creature’s Guide

Similar to Eldritch Creature's Guide

Eldritch Creature’s Guide is full of dark, dreamy, and mysterious symbolisms that it becomes an interesting novel to read! So, do you love the dark themes that you’ve read through the Eldritch Creature’s Guide novel? If so, let me recommend Dreame’s Amaranthine by Joleene Naylor – it’s the novel that will come on the top list for paranormal-based stories!

Amaranthine on the Dreame platform has a vampire as the main male character, and the book cover seems to picture a non-intimidating alternative version of Outer God Azathoth in Eldritch Creature’s Guide.

Plus, the presence of Katelina, the main female character of the Amaranthine novel, and the relationship dynamics between Katelina and the vampire Jorick make this Dreame novel livelier to read!

Summary of Amaranthine:

Amaranthine follows a story about Katelina, a young woman who seeks the mysterious voice on her phone and claims to have killed Patrick, her lifelong lover. Meanwhile, the Amaranthine novel also introduces us to Jorick, a dark and enigmatic vampire, as we read through the novel’s chapter.

Jorick and Katelina first met when Katelina is about to discover who kills Patrick. At first, the male vampire of the story, Jorick, appears like a cold-hearted psychopath who guides Katelina to a scary and dark place and talks emotionlessly.

However, that’s how vampires present themselves, and in the end, he lets Katelina know what Patrick truly feels for her this whole time.

It appears that Patrick doesn’t want any relationships with her this whole time. It’s because Patrick chooses to obey his family’s wishes by using Katelina to fulfill their wishes. Hence, the dark, horror, and vampiric adventures begin for both Jorick and Katelina.
