His Lost Queen, the novel belongs to the Beautiful Belle and Alpha Grayson series, tells stories after Belle Dupree escapes from her mate.

Belle might have settled in Evergreen, Maine. However, her marks still hurt, and she still has memories of Grayson, who is now a werewolf-vampire hybrid.

When Grayson arrives, how will Grayson convince Belle of his true intentions? What are pieces of information about the vampire king that Grayson wants to convey to Belle?

Part 1: The Primary Stories That Happen In His Lost Queen Novel

Like its predecessor, His Lost Queen novel’s stories are all about Belle Dupree, a human living in a werewolf and vampire society. The early chapters of His Lost Queen also show her moving on from Grayson Stoll, the Alpha werewolf, who has hurt her through a strange mark that he implants into her body.

So, Belle runs far away to a small town in Evergreen, Maine. There, she rebuilds her life and seeks support systems despite her weakened conditions. Bella is sure that the Alpha werewolf who was once her lover is no longer the kind-hearted and protective Alpha that she previously idealized.

Yet, His Lost Queen novel shows Belle misses an unavoidable fact, and that fact is that Grayson will stop at nothing until he can find her. Meanwhile, Alpha Grayson is no longer a pure-breed werewolf. Instead, he has become a half-werewolf and half-vampire due to Azazel’s attacks on his pack’s warrior recently.

Azazel, the firstborn Mortar vampire, and the first vampire king, put the dark potion on Grayson while the vampire and his armies raided on Grayson’s pack. Azazel’s unmatched strengths cause Grayson to unwillingly admit his defeat, as the vampire king takes over Grayson’s body and makes Grayson hurt Belle without intending to.

Azazel also realizes even though Belle is only a human, she can bring peace to the werewolf society, and only by taking her away from Grayson that he can rule over Grayson’s pack. When Azazel hurts Belle through Grayson’s attacks that he directs inside Grayson’s mind, Belle sees it’s Grayson who hurt her, not Azazel. So, that’s how the author of His Lost Queen novel describes it as not Grayson’s fault.

Anyway, Azazel’s possessions of Grayson’s body persist for at least two months. Thanks to Azazel’s possessions, Grayson learns more about vampires and their heritages’ hierarchies. It didn’t matter if those vampires terrorized Grayson, as long as he could find Belle and let her know it wasn’t him.

Will Belle a.k.a. “His Lost Queen” believes Grayson’s side of the story when she hasn’t seen Azazel in person?

Part 2: The Best And Worthy-To-Read Chapters Of His Lost Queen Novel

Chapter 3

His Lost Queen Chapter 3

The descriptions of the Mortar vampire’s hierarchies become the openings to His Lost Queen Chapter 3. Azazel, the vampire who possesses Grayson’s body, is the firstborn, which grants him priority to the vampire king’s throne, along with Queen Cordelia, his wife. Meanwhile, Minnie, the girl who “saves” Grayson’s life, is the fourth born, and her ultimate healer status makes her the kindest vampire among all of her siblings.

However, Minnie’s kindness is merely her face, as her second and third-born brothers can always stop her at all times. Learning these entire histories of vampires makes Grayson unintentionally scowl as if his wolf’s instinct caught the vampires’ intention to shun Belle. So, Kyle, the one who realizes this part, warns Grayson about Azazel and his underlings.

His Lost Queen Chapter 4

Grayson is still hunting for Belle’s presence in His Lost Queen Chapter 4. Meanwhile, Zoe, his 5-year-old pack member, comes in his direction and gives him a gentle warning about how pretty Belle is, but Zoe doesn’t say where she sees Belle. Then, Elijah, one of the pack members in Grayson’s pack, also informs the same vague news.

We see Elijah’s portions of informing Grayson and Kyle about Belle at the end of His Lost Queen Chapter 4 after Grayson gets rid of Zagan’s vampire army forces who interrupt his mission. There, Elijah tells Grayson and Kyle that he has looked for Belle in Minneapolis. However, she is nowhere to be found there. It drives Grayson furious.

Part 3: An In-Depth Analysis Of His Lost Queen Novel

His Lost Queen presents more vibrant stories than the prequel thanks to the vampires’ major appearances since the first chapter. Somehow, I get the impression that Annie Whipple, the author of the Beautiful Belle and Alpha Grayson series, wants to answer readers’ seemingly unending questions about vampires’ existence.

We often see werewolves and vampires clash with each other. We also frequently read about vampires being secluded creatures compared to their werewolf foes. Yet, what if we could learn more about the history of vampires? Is it possible that vampires have hierarchies based on their powers and statuses, just like werewolves’ Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and so on?

At first, I doubt if vampires would possess any of these attributes since they don’t tend to value relationships the way werewolves do. The descriptions of the first until fourth-born of the Mortar vampires in His Lost Queen change my perspectives. The priorities of the vampire king’s throne are on par with werewolves’ ranking systems, which intensify the vampires’ formidable forces against werewolves.

Any possessed scenes are interesting to read, and Grayson’s case of being possessed by Azazel’s spirit in His Lost Queen novel is one of them. The opening scene is not only phenomenal, but it also catalyzes readers to understand the entire storyline’s patterns. It makes me look forward to the third book in the same series.

Part 4: An Awesome Alternative To His Lost Queen Novel

Alternative To His Lost Queen Novel

Imagine how mundane the story patterns would be if His Lost Queen were no different than the prequel, in which the story only focuses on the relationship dynamics between Bella, a human female, and Grayson, her Alpha male werewolf mate.

Thankfully, Annie Whipple is aware of the readers’ concerns, as she inserts the vampire elements and makes them some of the most formidable villains in His Lost Queen. She even goes further in making a hybrid MC between a werewolf and a vampire. Azazel-possessed Grayson is still as dangerous as when Grayson was still a pure-breed werewolf, and nobody wants to mess around with Grayson.

Speaking about a werewolf-vampire hybrid, Annie Whipple’s His Lost Queen novel isn’t the only one. You can read Dominant Hybrid as an alternative to His Lost Queen novel. True to the novel’s title, Dominant Hybrid tells stories about the first werewolf-vampire hybrid whose true love and mate have left him forever.

The male MC of Dominant Hybrid has woken up from his death since the first introductory chapters. This time, he vowed to take everything and every one belonging to him, even with some trigger warning scenes. Beware: Once you immerse yourself in the stories of the Dominant Hybrid novel, you will feel attracted to the handsome-looking male MC!
