Part 1: Main Characters of Infinite Mage

Shirone

Infinite Mage - Shirone

Unlike most of the heroes we’ve come across in a fantasy book or web novels, Shirone is quite different. He’s not troublesome, not impulsive and definitely not an asshole that deserved to be hated on. From the start of the story, he showed innate qualities of an introvert and a genius, at that. He doesn’t like to engage with any form of violence. So even though the students picked on him, he never made any action to show his retribution. He stayed calm, and collected. He’d prefer to use his mind rather than the power of his fist. For him, it’s childish to take part in such argument. His brain just couldn’t handle the triviality of it all.

Because of his lack to show negative emotion, majority of the students hated him.

Amy

Infinite Mage - Amy

From the day they stumbled upon each other, Amy has developed an interest to Shirone. Even after years of not seeing him, she still couldn’t forget how he impressed him the day they met. His use of magic was something she couldn’t decipher. She knew magic is only for those who had the means to practice it. A mere commoner isn’t suitable to perform one. Especially at young age. Her curiousity about Shirone has drived her to enter the academy. There, she met him again and became his love interest. The differences of their personality were stark. Shirone is quite and reserved; while Amy is outgoing and likes to be in the spotlight.

It might come off as burden for them to be close, but it became the key that unlocked both of their interest and affection for one another.

That’s when he discovered a frightened baby, placed recklessly in the middle of the forest. Being he and his wife couldn’t produce an offspring, Vincent took him, and claimed him as his own. The boy will later on grow as an extremely intelligent child who likes reading, and appeared weak in terms of physical force but only hiding his full potential. They’d later name him as Shirone.

Chapter 20

Infinite Mage - Magic Academy

Shirone finally entered the Magic Academy. He passed the entrance exam and that alone baffled the instructors for some reason. They couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact that a commoner who never used any magic before excelled the test and seemed to have been hiding more under his sleeve. His exceptional abilities pulled them through. They were confused as to how could that have been the case. Instantly, they became interested at his background. Though he’s eligible to be placed on higher classes, they were forced to enter him in Class 7 as to avoid any questionable gazes from the students and the parents.

Chapter 30

Infinite Mage - Shirone's Promotion

Due to the incidents that happened from the previous chapters, Shirone received a promotion. From Class 7, he ascended to Class 5. It was exhilarating, and impressive. Not everyone was pleased with the board’s decision, though. Almost half of students population were disgusted. It created a division among them. They thought it’s an act of favoritism and an injustice to the hardwork they did. To make their feelings better, they decided to bully Shirone who’s as confused and unhappy as they were. Ms. Siena caught wind of the mistreatment. Being the good instructor as she was, she created a report that summarizes all of the incident where Shirone was physically abused, and insulted. The board’s reaction to her goodwill was nasty, though. They thought it’s too trivial of a matter to reach the table of discussion. Wishing for it to be kept away, they tried to sweep it under the rag. But the headmaster has another plans for it.
