This is one book that has not so many characters, cliffhangers and happenstances, but yet manages, in one way or the other, to hold a reader’s attention. No single dull moment as a reader follows the story and experiences of this couple who were married against theirs wish. Part 1: The Main Characters Of The Returning Ex John and Sophia
Before we look indepthly into why John and Sophia’s love story is a Game changer, let’s find out who the main characters of this novel are…
Sophia, is the main female protagonist of the returning ex, was about twenty two when she first married John. She was tall, pretty and stunning.
John Constance, who is the male protagonist of the story, was also handsome, wealthy and tall. He was the chief executive officer of the constance holdings.
Part 2: Steamy Hot Storyline of The Returning Ex
Now, let’s have a snippet of the novel, from my point of view, of course… The story is about seven hundred chapters and ten pages cannot be enough to say all about it… hence, we’re having a snippet.
Remember that John and Sophia has broken the fairytale record for the most love found in the most unlikely of places… or, how else do you explain finding love after marriage and divorce? That’s an impossibility in the waking world. Well, old man Constance was on his death bed, very ill and was really craving to see his only surviving relative, his grandchild, properly married.
Man was scared that his grandson might be gay or not interested in women, since he’s never brought any lady home. And the rumors going forward was that he hated the company of women. What was he going to do about it? and he was dying. If John Constance never found a wife before he died, how was he supposed to hope that the generational wealth the Constance family had been enjoying, would have an heir someday?
Old man Constance decided he must do something about it. He got a voodoo priestess in the house, she took them through prayers and supplications… then prophesied how John Constance was going to receive a recommendation of a woman to make a wife from his grand father. He was to obey this instruction to the later, if he was going to have good luck in his life.
John Constance was not happy to watch his grand father’s health drastically deteriorate… he was willing to do anything to please him and give him longer life. Therefore, when the recommendation came from him to get married to a certain lady named Sophia, John accepted. Even though he hadn’t expected that the recommendation was going to come so soon, he’d hoped that grandpa would go on a search for the right lady, before which he hoped to find his own woman by himself.
Well, Sophia was one of the ladies who attended to grandpa at the church where the priestess came from. He knew she was pretty and that John would like her. John didn’t have a choice but to accept. That was about a year ago. He’d married Sophia based on grandpa’s superstitious mind and now, grandpa had died about two months ago. Therefore it was high time to divorce Sophia.
Sophia on the other hand, had come from a long line of poor people. Even the work at the voodoo church was recommended by a family friend who claimed he rolled with the rich. Therefore marrying such a billionaire as John Constance was more than she’d ever dreamed of. But something changed along the line, probably during the many nights of pleasure, Sophia fell in love with John. The divorce was an embarrassment to her, but she didn’t dare argue, plus, he gave her almost half of all he owned. They had no children, there was no question there.
But the question remains, why did she end up again in his bedroom the same day the’d divorced? Why was he, on his own, willing to have her in his bed? Let’s investigate in the popular chapters below…

It was the night of the divorce. The way the two were being nonchalant about the whole thing, you would think they were doing something they’d both agreed to in their minds. After acting all super woman at the ministry of marriage affairs… and eating a huge, expensive celebration lunch, Sophia returned home to weep into the marriage certificate paper.
She later decided to go out and try having fun. She ran into John Constance at the bar and he took her home. He was drunk with a weird testing red wine, and Sophia was also drunk herself. John was sure he’d been drugged and they both ended up in bed that night.
The Returning Ex Chapter 12: My Girlfriend
John had thought he had been drugged by his business associate from abroad, who he had taken to that bar where he eventually ran into Sophia. After that night, they both went their separate ways, but Sophia was on a downward spiral. The money, the properties, including the monthly allowance that John had given wasn’t enough to calm her.
Therefore she continued trying to flirt with other men, trying to see if she could find a proper replacement for John. On this night, she was flirting with another man when John’s PA, Zack, interrupted from behind. She turned around to face him and saw that John was just behind him, but there was a girl by his side.

Like I had earlier stated, the returning ex Sophia and John is a table turner full of lessons in patience and perseverance. They’d both gotten married in obedience to a dying man’s wishes, lived like the perfect couple until the event of a divorce change the narrative. Instead of divorce cooling them down, it ignited the fires they had suppressed since meeting each other, and the couple who didn’t even exchange a word, began to find activities which stirred their love in a different dimension.
