Shin Youngwoo is a professional gamer on satisfy, but it could be said that, unlike other gamers, he had gotten a bit obsessed with the game. This wasn’t because he was over-enthusiastic about the game.
He was simply lazy and expected that he would get rich off playing on Satisfy than going out in the real world to hustle.
This was why he was knee-deep in debt because he was foolish enough to go borrow loans which he unsurprisingly spent on Satisfy. And because of this everyone hated him, even his parents lost respect for him.
However, going on quests in the game, and being determined, Shin Youngwoo had surprisingly accomplished a feat deemed impossible.
He was a low-level player but he discovered the Northern End Cave in three months, and in the cave, he was lucky enough to find Pagma’s Rare Book, a very rare artifact that was worth millions of wons in the real life.
Overexcited over his accomplishment, Shin Youngwoo had made a terrible mistake by deciding to log out (which meant abandoning his quest) so he could go sell the artifact.
Logging out of the game meant he had betrayed Earl Ashur, a high-ranking NPC, who was also his boss. What this meant was that since he had pissed his boss, the new mission was to kill him and all the high-ranking knights who protected him, and in return, he could finally claim the artifact.
Shin Youngwoo, knew he was no match for them and was afraid he would lose the artifact, so he decided to use it.
What Shin Youngwoo never expected was that claiming the artifact would ruin his stats, and he watched painfully as all the stats he had built on Satisfy for years disappeared before his eyes, and he even became a -1 level player.
How was he going to cope with this new development that could even make someone kill himself?

Shin Youngwoo Grid
Shin Youngwoo, infamously known by his game tag Grid is the main protagonist of Overgeared.
In Satisfy Grid is a formidable player who works for Earl Ashur and is infamous for finishing difficult quests because of his determination. He is not a high-ranking player yet but it can be said that he is on par with high-ranking players because of how resilient he is.
Coming to the real world, Shin Youngwoo is constrastingly different from Grid. He’s not rich or hardworking, neither is he famous like Grid. It can be said that he’s a loser, and a fool because he was dumb enough to borrow
loans worth millions of wons just so he could spend it on Satisfy, and now he stopped going to school because he was ashamed and his parents weren’t proud of him. It was difficult to explain to them that he wanted to be a gamer and that he could actually make money off of it.
Lim Cheolho
Lim Cheolho is the core of the thirty-three scientists who built the VR system, who also led to the development of Satisfy by establishing the S.A Group. In essence, he owns Satisfy.
Due to this he is the most influential person in the world, even surpassing the president of the United States, and is considered the wealthiest person in Korea.
He has many titles: the one with the knowledge of god, the creator of the virtual reality system, the person who changed the world, and the father of satisfaction.
However, because of how important he was Lim Cheolho never had time for himself and was always busy with work. Sometimes he despised this but it wasn’t the case the day the report of Shin Youngwoo alias Grid was brought to him.
He was impressed that the young man was able to discover the Pragma Rare Book at such a low level and in such a short time. Although Satisfy had a policy of not interfering with the game, Lim Cheoho was rather torn on what to do to compensate Grid for losing his stats.

Chapter Four
After watching his stats drastically reduced to a minus level, Shin Youngwoo logged out of the game and went to a forum to enquire about this negative feedback.
It was unexpected but the people in the forum thought he was a delusional loser because no one had ever heard about a minus level before. Since he couldn’t get any help from the forum, he decided to log back into the game to figure things out himself.
Because he was expelled from Patrian, he lost his residence and so he respawned at a temple near his place of death. This temple was actually for Yatan, the god of darkness.
Left alone at the unnerving temple, Grid took his time to study the newfound stats that had reduced him from a warrior to a common laborer. He tried to wrap his head around the weird stats that he now had, but subconsciously he still couldn’t help but be sad about the minus level he was in.
According to what he could understand, using the Pragma Rare Book had its own impressive benefits, even though it reduced his stats. However, Shin Youngwoo still preferred that he had sold it instead.
Chapter Five
While Grid was still studying his stats, he jumped scared when a man poked him from behind. Immediately Grid was at loggerhead with the man whom he later learned his name was Doran, an NPC whom he had mistaken for a player at first.
Doran was a shadow who secretly protected Earl Steim. Due to some complications, he Earl’s daughter had been kidnapped and it was up to him to find her. In this quest, the NPC required Grid to help him rescue the kidnapped lady so he could be rewarded.
The reward was a mouthwatering one that had high monetary value in the real world, but because of how difficult it was, Grid was scared he’d fail it and then drop to a -3 level so he rejected the quest.
Part 3: Conclusion of Overgeared
