Eventually in The Road Home, after one of Gui Xiao’s travel partners and owner of the problem that they had contacted Lu Yanchen about had started a bout of display of anxiety, Lu Yanchen showed up. They were lucky to have him show up because he happened to be the military chief in the jurisdiction so it was extremely convenient.
Gui Xiao didn’t know how Lu Yanchen would react to seeing her after such a long time, so she was nervous. The owner of the problem that Lu Yanchen had shown up about, Xiao Cai had her car stolen, and lucky enough for her, she received information about the nature of car thieves in the area, so she was on the way to retrieve her car.
In The Road Home, the company of travelers all climbed into the car of Lu Yanchen and set off for the police garage where the car was surely going to end up. He would pull a few strings and they would get their car back in no ample time.
Lu Yanchen’s countenance was cold, so cold to the extent that Xiao Cai confessed to Gui Xiao that she was too afraid to even thank him. Lu Yanchen was so cold that it was heavily snowing, yet he rolled down the windows of the car, not caring about the people who were with him, if they were freezing.

As the travel company spent more time together with Lu Yanchen in The Road Home, he became easier to talk to, even though he still carried an air of sophistication and coldness. Lu Yanchen was able to hand them over to another officer that saw them through the process of retrieving their car, and it was eventually successful. The company of travelers was excited.
They knew that they were just lucky to have fallen into good hands or else they could have as well kissed that car goodbye.
Excited, Xiao Cai suggested that they took Lu Yanchen to dinner as a way of thanking him for helping them out. Gui Xiao immediately became nervous at this suggestion. Of course, she wanted to see Lu Yanchen again. Any opportunity to see him was certainly welcome and she was willing to grab it. In The Road Home, the author narrated Gui Xiao’s excitement to attend the dinner.
When Xiao Cai called Lu Yanchen to invite him, he accepted and so they were all excited and looking forward to seeing him and having a good time. Moreso, they needed to relax from the heaviness and burden of being victims of a stolen car.
They had not been particularly enjoying themselves and this was an opportunity. Gu Xiao was still met with Lu Yanchen’s cold nature. He had drastically changed from the young boy she used to know when they dated. At a point, she even thought he had a wife and son, after all, he was acting very distant from her.

The first chapter of The Road Home starts with Gui Xiao waiting at the gas station with her travel company. They were waiting for Lu Yanchen.
After being a victim of theft, Gu Xiao’s friend, Xiao Cai was in a state of extreme anxiety and nervousness. But she was in luck because it happened in good territory with a working security system, so she was able to retrieve the car. The person that made this possible was no other person than Lu Yanchen.
Since he was in a jurisdiction where he had authority as military personnel, he used his influence to get the traveling crew a good officer that would perform his task and give them a befitting result.
In further chapters of The Road Home, Gui Xiao had daydreamed enough about Lu Yanhcen to the extent that she couldn’t restrain her excitement when she confirmed that her crew was interested in having dinner with him in a bid to thank him for his help. Part 3: Evaluate The Road Home
Mature content. And by mature content, I don’t mean sexual mature content, I mean maturity here for strictly what it is. The Road Home was written professionally, maturely, and by an author who had something going on upstairs. The Road Home is not like the regular romance plot of boy meets girl and the likes, no, it is severely coupled with the eccentricities of love and affection turned sour and having a faint light and hope of resuscitation. Beautifully written English and accurately placed punctuations also make the book a good read. Ten out of ten score card and kudos to the author from me.
