Part 1: What Happened In When Fate Plays Its Hand?
In When Fate Plays Its Hand Book, Hansel did not know what he had until it was gone. He woke up in the morning, demanding for his usual ‘cream of vegetable soup,’ but it was no longer available for him. You see, that soup was a special one made for him by his girlfriend, Miranda Sutton, who had now broken up with him.
Miranda and Hansel had been a couple for a while, and Miranda had literally given up her existence for this man. It was all because of love. Concerning this special soup that was driving Hansel crazy, it was one that Miranda used to make for him. Hansel had a gastric problem, and anytime he drank too much, he would suffer pains in his belly
That is where Miranda’s special soup came in.
That was just one out of the countless ways Miranda used to take care of Hansel, but he never appreciated her. Now that Miranda had left, Hansel realized that the soup required a lot of time and effort to prepare, and nobody was willing to go through all that for him. Miranda
Miranda, or Ms. Sutton, as she was called by her underlings, is the female lead character of When Fate Plays Its Hand Book. Miranda was a romantic partner to the male lead. According to the novel, she literally gave her life to this man because she loved him.
Miranda was in school, as a matter of fact, she met this said man in the school that she was in. With such a promising future, Miranda had no business forfeiting her advancement in her education. She would have been the youngest Ph.D. holder in the country had she continued with her studies, but guess what?
Because of the love she had for a man, she stopped her education and became a domestic partner. It broke the hearts of everyone who knew Miranda, from her friends, colleagues, and even a doctor at her school who was ready to hold her hand and lead her to greater heights.
Miranda looked how her partner wanted her to look, always cooked for him, and was his doll. She obeyed him to the last word until she could not take it anymore. Miranda’s partner did not see the end of their relationship coming, but it did in the worse way.
Hansel
Hansel is the partner being talked about in When Fate Plays Its Hand Novel. He is Miranda’s partner. Hansel met Miranda in college and watched her forfeit everything she had and would have become just to be his domesticated woman.
However, it appeared that Hansel did not appreciate the length that Miranda had gone for him. The man felt entitled to Miranda, thinking that she would never leave him because she loved him. On countless occasions, Miranda and Hansel had ended their relationship but Hansel always appeared not to be bothered.
She would always come back, right? Well wrong.
This time, Miranda left, and she left for good.
Hansel who suffered an ulcer, needed his usual soup that Miranda would happily prepare for him when she was around. But where was Miranda this time?
Hansel waited and waited. Had she really left him? All fingers pointed to the fact that indeed, Miranda had left.
Firstly, a friend of Hansel tried to call Miranda with Hansel’s phone but they received a bland tone back. What was that? Had Miranda blocked Hansel?
Unable to bear it further, Hansel tried to contact Miranda via WhatsApp, only for him to discover that Miranda had blocked him.

This serves as a wakeup call to both men and women who have given their existence to love just to please their partner. While love, they say, is a beautiful thing, we should know that we have our lives to live, and love just makes everything else more beautiful.
The plot of the story is rewarding and there are lessons to be learnt which makes it all worth it.
