I Love You, BaklaUpdated at Feb 25, 2021, 18:54
Quin has a problem, and he thinks it is a big problem. He is 27 years old and that means his family especially his parents are asking – prodding about his love life more than ever. Now, there is nothing wrong with that usually. But lately, his parents are usually probing on family dinner if he has found the “right girl” after all this time, and the thing is he is a gay. And even after all this time, he hasn’t come out yet. There are always times and circumstances where he thinks he should just say it but ends up not doing it at all. His parents are a bit traditionalist, they are conservatives and they lived in an era where homesexuality is not a thing. That’s what makes Quin hesitate all this time.
Perhaps due to his parents constant prodding and his family’s name in the line, with a brilliant, or dare I say dumb idea – it depends on the outcome, he thought it best to cover up his sexuality by courting a young lady named Gwen, which in a series of turn of events, they end up engaged.
Gwen is firmly smitten with Quin and she thought she was lucky Quin noticed him in the first place, more so when he started showing motives and signs where he is open in a relationship. Being in love can blindside you easily, and she failed to notice the small things which should made her think twice in the first place – the mannerism, the way his eyes linger on some of the young guys walking by, or the way he has an unusual knowledge on things only a woman should be interested in. However, one day, when love is set aside and you take a step back… you starts to notice those things.
Now, let us introduce Kiro, Quin’s bestfriend and secret boyfriend. He has known Quin since college and has been by his side ever since. Whenever things are rough for Quin, Kiro is there, and of course, on days he is happiest – Kiro is also there. You have to know how much he was vexed when Quin asked if it is okay to court a woman smitten with him, but when you love someone, it is hard to say no.
