Xie Lian will need to help others to atone for his damaging of Heaven’s estate. He can do so by winning merit credits but, since he has no acolytes to pray for him, he will have to take care of some issues that require the close attention of Heavenly Realm.
The lead character will have to begin a heavy task, trying to restore peace in the areas which have been invaded by supernatural beings. There is a place where a ghostly groom feeds of the brides that get near his nest in a haunted mountain and later Xie will have to fight the monsters who reside in Half-Moon-Pass.
While traveling to fulfill his quest, Xie Lian will be accompanied by San Lang, a beautiful young man who sees himself as being ugly and deformed. They have a beautiful relationship that later transforms into something more. How will they overcome all the obstacles ahead? Will their forbidden love prevail?

Since he didn’t have the necessary merit credits to pay off his debt, he will have to gain his entrance in Heaven Realm by being a savior for the territories where supernatural beasts were threatening humankind.
In his quest, his faith in humanity will be shattered but he will still give it a chance. With the help of his companion, San Lang, he will have to conquer the world once more. Slowly, Lang will become more than just a friend to Xie.
Readers get to see a flustered Xie whenever Lang speaks to him gently or flirts with him. Their interactions are sweet and full of emotion. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the romance in full action, but it is implied that their relationship is deep and meaningful.
San Lang
San Lang is a ghost king and Xie Lian’s companion throughout his quest given by the gods from Heaven. He is beautiful but he doesn’t sees himself that way. He always dresses casual, in red clothes and wears his hair in a ponytail.
Lang has feelings for his companion from the beginning of their journey but he doesn’t feel worthy of his love, so he doesn’t come clean about his feeling towards Xie until later in the book. Meanwhile, he settles for occasional flirting.
When learning that Xie reciprocates his feelings, Lang is very happy. They begin a romantic relationship and eventually get married.
Same sex relationships may be something you are not accustomed to in such novels but seeing how this connection between Xie and Lang develops, you will be mesmerized for sure.
