The story tells of Riddel. Her tale is a somber one at the beginning, where we see her in distress after finding out one of the most upsetting news a bride could receive on her big day. Riddel died from the devastation but, is reborn to the past. Exactly six years prior. Now she can find out the truth of what really caused such a tragedy.

“Cinderella Is Dead” is a magnificent tale of misfortune. Yes, I said that. Riddel practically dealt with two subsequent horrors on the day of her marriage.

It was literally her big day. Riddel wasn’t rich and wasn’t the most eligible either, yet she managed to snag herself a prince. All the ladies in the kingdom must have died of jealousy or at least had a mini-stroke. A girl who was nothing remarkable could get a prince, surely it made the headlines.

Nevertheless, it was her happiness, and it was so badly ruined. Who will take responsibility of this woman who had the title of “Diana” hanging over her? We didn’t expect her to move on quickly, rather we knew that the pain would linger for quite a bit. However, it became something more terrifying with the illness that resulted from it. Well, not illness per se. More like PTSD.

Part 1: Plot Summary of Cinderella Is Dead

Cinderella Is Dead, Wedding of Riddel and the Prince

The story follows Riddel who is engaged and set to marry the prince. It is rightly the day of their wedding and Riddel is so happy and excited. She understands her unbelievable luck and seriously couldn’t wait for the moment when she would be married to prince Arfin. He was the man of her dreams, the one she loved. As a woman who literally had nothing more than her person to offer to someone like the prince, Riddel was always conscious of the happiness that came her way. She thought it was too good to be true. Yes, we can understand that.

A lot of people would feel that was when marrying someone of royal status. It’s practically a life lived waiting for the other shoe to drop. That she dared to even dream of such perfect happiness and love from the prince. She is just human after all; it is normal to have so many self-doubting thoughts. It is also normal that her future was pretty much written.

The news that came to her was one that was meant to change her perception of what life truly is. Riddel’s bracelet had broken off her wrist, and even when she tried to laugh off this bad omen, her anxiety still crept in.

The other shoe she had been expecting would drop, finally did; Riddel learned that the prince was found dead in her room with another woman.

Riddel died, then awoke six years prior to the misfortune that was supposed to befall her. She must find answers to the question of ‘why did it happen?’ and from there, figure out how to prevent things from going down the same path.

Part 2; Meet the main character of Cinderella Is Dead

Riddel

Cinderella Is Dead: Riddel

She is a fallen Baroness without land or any property that could be considered a valuable asset. Especially when considering her marriage to the prince. Riddel practically had nothing but herself to bring to the table. While that was in no way a bad thing, it is impossible to stop the tongues from wagging. They didn’t think she was good enough for the prince.

Well, neither did she. She was filled with happiness, but she didn’t know if it would last. Yes, that is exactly what Riddel was waiting for; the big slap in the face that would condemn her for ever having such high hopes for herself.

She lived in a materialistic world. Hell, there’s probably no world a person could live in that isn’t or won’t be materialistic. As long as a human exists, it’s going to want something pretty and shiny or special benefits.

Only true love can change this fact; a love that expected nothing in return, a love that was loyal and wished only happiness for the other. So, when it all came crashing down, she could only despair. The love she had thought was hers, probably wasn’t.

Nothing could have prepared her for this sort of thing. What did she do wrong that fate liked to mock her so? What deity did her existence piss off, that they took pleasure in torturing her this way? Her life suddenly became very unclear.

Her hopes turned to crap just like that. There was no amount of consolation that could mend this broken heart. With all of the things that she had undergone, Riddel finally suffered a little PTSD.

Cinderella Is Dead, Riddel Beside the Prince

Chapter 0

It was their wedding day. The handsome prince was Riddel’s fianc’. She couldn’t believe her good fortune, so she tapped the floor with the soles of her shoes. The shock she felt convinced her it was really happening. Her laughter could hardly be suppressed. However, she grew somber at the sight of her mother’s necklace.

She moved to put it away in the jewelry box, but the string broke. Riddel’s heart sank. She tried laughing, but her anxiety did not go away.

The ceremony was delayed and Riddel’s anxiety increased. Then she learned that her fianc’ was found dead and with him, another woman. They were found in the room that was supposed to be Riddel’s new room.

Not long after, Riddel was to attend an event. It was the first social event she attended since everything was ruined a month ago. She wore a dark, grey dress. She was to accompany Elliott. When he saw her, he greeted her with the title of “Diana”. A title that was hers because she was to be married to the prince. Now that he was dead, there was nowhere for it to go.

At the banquet, she made limited interaction, uncomfortable with the mocking laughter and gossip of others. In her misery, she got drunk and ended up on the terrace. There she met Alfer Herace. His younger sister was the one found next to the prince.

Riddel didn’t appreciate his informality even though he was trying to help. Duke Horace left after apologizing. Not a moment later, Riddel had a seizure. The Duke was the one to find her in her last moments, he still called her ‘Riddel’.
