His father wanted him to adapt and live the same principle he had, that of tenacity and sense of responsibility, so his dad’s only solution was Xavier getting married or finding his other half that would put inspiration and direction in his life.

Meanwhile, Angela here in The Arrangement was the exact opposite of Xavier. She’s a responsible daughter to a father who’s sick and has gone bankrupt. Her family is in a great financial crisis, and it would be impossible for her to save her father’s dying restaurant business given the many mortgages they have. But the restaurant is precious to her. She grew up with it, and saw how her parents have worked hard for it, so aside that it would have saddened her sick father, she doesn’t want to lose the restaurant too for memories sake. Answers came to her problem in the form of Xavier, but when she agreed to the marriage deal, Xavier only looked at her as a gold digger.
