Ariel had it to the brim at that point. Luke saw the headline and frowned at the fact that the media managed to capture a picture of him when he was trying to make Harriet avoid slipping and falling, and it just so happened that they were poised as if they were kissing. The picture was indeed misleading, and Luke was so upset that no matter how much he explained to his grandfather, the man would not believe him.
While all this was going on, Luke did not even know that there was even bigger fish to fry. He was still so immersed in the fact that Ariel was going to return from her so-called divorce spree, little did he know that Ariel was at the airport, about to take off to were no one would know because she obviously was deliberately getting lost. Luke left his grandfather’s house according to what the novel narrates, hoping to find Ariel there and have her explain what her absence from his grandfather’s regular program was about, but instead, he met his mistress, Harriet there. Harriet meant a lot to Luke quite alright, but at this time, he was not in the mood for Harriet.
Luke was dying to know where his wife, Ariel was, and it pained him because ordinarily, he should be happy to divorce the woman that had prevented him from getting married to the love of his life, Harriet. He arrived home to see Harriet at home, putting on Ariel’s dress and to think that the dress did not fit Harriet, yet she forced herself into it was another thing that pissed Luke off beyond words. Harriet was acting so coy and at that moment, Luke could swear that he was not interested in seeing her. For whatever reason there was, Luke wanted to lay his eyes on Ariel desperately. What was she up to? He knew what his grandfather was capable of. If the man found out that Ariel had divorced him, the sort of trouble that would fall on his head is one that would never heal.
Luke had sent his assistant to find out about Ariel, where she was, and he soon got to find out that Ariel had boarded a flight out of town. Luke Reynold held little to no regard for his wife, Ariel, and she endured the pain of such an unhealthy marriage but that was just for a while, as Ariel soon abandoned the marriage to face her life on her own. Such a nice plot which is carefully and adequately written to taste should be applauded by readers.
