Part 1: Trapping Quincy As A Strong Female Lead Romance Story

Trapping Quincy Strong Female Lead

The catch here in this novel, Trapping Quincy is the trope which it adapted. Trapping Quincy is a romance novel. The story opens with a scene showing how strong Quincy’s character is. She’s an expert in picking locks because she’s been used to being locked in the attic since she was nine. Although Quincy isn’t the kind of heroine who does combat and has exceptional abilities, yet the storyline itself manages to show her character as a strong one in the sense that Quincy isn’t the kind of she-wolf who would just accept mistreatment done to her.

Quincy is a strong female lead because she’s a survivor and she refuses to accept what destiny throws at her.The beginning of the story was more on the build up and exposition of her character. It could have been more exciting if the romantic catch was already there, yet on the other hand, that’s a good thing because it makes the readers expect more, and to flip more pages to see more.

Intrigue, cliffhangers, and the expectation that Trapping Quincy is a romance novel are what sustains this book. All in all, Trapping Quincy contains the elements of an effective romance novel, and it was good on that part where we have been given two main protagonists who both do not belong in their own world, and were expected to find a home, a place to belong to in each other. That was such a romantic concept to adapt in a story.

Part 2: The World Building In Trapping Quincy

Trapping Quincy World Building

Unlike other werewolf novels, Trapping Quincy’s world building takes a slight detour on the human world. Here, their readers would not only see much of how the pack system works, but they would get to see the differences of the human and werewolves’ culture, their beliefs and practices. As for this novel, Trapping Quincy, it is such a disgrace to be a human. And so when Quincy wasn’t able to get her wolf at the right age, she was then regarded as a human.

For a wolf, to be regarded as human is worse than being an Omega wolf. That means, you do not belong to the pack. You’re of a different species. And so, with that, the pack has all the right to do whatever they want to you, and that’s what happened to Quincy. Because she was wolf less, she was then treated as a servant who was always locked in the attic. On that condition of hers, she has come to accept that she’s a human indeed, and have even hated the idea of having a mate.

Mating is part of the werewolf world. Same as other werewolf novels, here in Trapping Quincy, mating was the most important thing that could happen to any werewolf. It was like having their soulmate. It is equivalent to receiving a gift from the moon goddess. It’s not just love that incorporates mating, in some cases, its honor and it’s the future of a certain pack particularly when it involves the mating of the pack leaders, thus the alpha werewolves. But here in Trapping Quincy, Quincy herself doesn’t like to be mated to anyone.

So, fully convinced and finally accepting what the voices around her tell her, that she’s a human, she then decided to leave her pack, and leave with the humans. But as she was living a normal life with the humans, she met Prince Caspian who, like her, was neither a wolf, nor a human. Trapping Quincy has an interesting world building, reading this novel would transport you to the magical world of the werewolves, and the entertaining part of it is in how the human world collided with it.

As for the plot of this novel, it was then built with clarity and a solid storyline. The catch here in this novel Trapping Quincy is in its characterization actually which fits well with the plot. Here we have been two main protagonists who were both searching for belongingness, who were both different, and were struggling to fit in.

So, the question is would they find belongingness in each other? Such a plot concept, as what have mentioned earlier was romantic, it really suits well to a romance novel such as Trapping Quincy.
