SOBRE EL AUTOR
Harry Martinson (1904-1978) pertenece a la generación de escritores proletarios que operaron una gran renovación en las Letras Suecas. Recibió el Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1974 por «una obra cuya invención formal, se somete a una exigencia de justicia social».
Fue el primer escritor de origen proletario en ser elegido miembro de la Academia Sueca. En 1956 escribe Aniara, su gran epopeya lírica, obra por la que más se le conoce fuera de Suecia. Sus últimos años estuvieron salpicados por las críticas a su obra literaria que le provocaron una gran depresión. Se suicida en 1978.
